Well, yes now, I do realise that I am possibly the world's worst blogger.......matter of fact, I come so close it scares me! I do intend to rectify the situation however:) Life has been utter chaos,madness unfolding before me daily, and quite frankly, I just don't get here,between Facebook, and the internet:) I need to update more often!

I also need to put my Canon to use more frequently. I adore my camera. I wish I could carry it about with zeal,randomly snapping at everything that moves,capturing those precious moments. I seldom do. However,on a recent adventure to Calliope(that is via Woop Woop you know) I happened upon this gorgeous fog. I had the Canon handy-I snapped piccies. Then I felt bad for doing so,as not far from where we were parked,half of a family lost their lives in this fog:( A local gent, and his little son were killed in a head on collision in this fog. Very sobering . Very sad.

Onto happier topics now. I have been scrapping again,and loving it. I have been teaching some stamping too. This is the card I taught on the weekend,using the Cottage Garden set. I love the way this turned out. I am not sure the girls enjoyed cutting out the little flowers or butterfly though;p.

I have been joining in the forum at Bon's Scraps again too. It feels like coming home-I haven't chatted for yonks(other than FB) and love the enrichment of sharing my passion with others! The challenges are awesome, and the gallery at Bon's is very inspiring too, I am having a ball getting to know some new faces, and drooling over the gorgeous work! July CC at Bon's has seen this colour challenge:-

I love this photo of my baby:) I loved this challenge too-Black,red, White and Cream, with an element over the edge of the layout,flowers, and a quote. Oh, and finger painting too:0 It was lik revisiting my youth!

The Write Now challenge for July is to write your journalling in a Fairy Tale prose. With some bling thrown in,and I did this page. MMMMM , Glimmermist:) I have had it for yonks, and rarely use it. Loved it for this though!

The July sketch at BON'S is a cracker too-and you still have time left to complete your layout, I found some Gutter Guard that I squirrelled from Jacob, and used it on this layout. Some stamping too,and voila:)

I have more to share,but Blogger is not playing nicely,so that will give me an excuse to upload more later!

My AC/DC pregnancy that is!! After NINE long months, of anxiously awaiting their concert,it has now been and gone:( But ,my,oh my, what an AWESOME night we had!!! We left work early(something we never do-never close the shop early,rarely even on time!) and grabbed our ponchos,heading to Nathan. It looked like it was going to be a dismal,rained out evening...but yippee,it wasn't!!! The only time it rained was during "Thunderstruck"(how apt!) and once near the end. The crowd was fantastic-I got myself some Angus horns,and a cooler. Had to hold on to the horns while jumping about like a mad thing though....... they played all the classics, and paid homage to Bon Scott during "High Voltage"-honestly, the crowd just went wild!!! This was the stage........lots, and lots, and lots of speakers...mmmmm..I love it loud!!! So-it was Jacob's first big concert, and I don't think I will ever get him to another,but at least he went in style:0
I have been card-making, and scrapping a little...have also made a special OTP, but haven't yet edited the photos,so that will be for next post:) February is a mammoth month of birthdays in our family,so I made loads of cards then:) Snappy Birthday for my super cute nephew Jake- he is such a boy, but at six, I still wanted something cute-plenty of time for car cards later on!

I bought the crab stamp for about $1.50 at The Warehouse donkeys ago,and finally inked it!! All made from scraps, of course,and I love how it came out! Apparently, it was a cool card, and passed his inspection,lol.

I have a swag of others, but thought I would share some faves-this one was for my niece's birthday last week,sweet sixteen at last. Charita is Frangipani mad, so I watercoloured and played with this one. It too was met with happiness,phew, i am not failing to please my biggest critic!!

one of my layouts from Feb-a sketch from A2Z Scraplets challenge...which I forgot to send in !! Oh well, it was great to sniff glue again, and revisit my scrapping desk,lol. Just realised how wonky my pic is too*blush*. This was a fun layout to do-love the Kaiser papers:) They totally suit Jake and Jonathon, they adore their gaming!

Not much else to report here-I am eagerly awaiting the outcome of weeks of work overtime at the shop-we have some exciting things going on there in the next week or so:) Jacob has worked so hard,some days 19hours, and I have barely seen him without a tool in his hand,roflmao. Not THAT kind though! I will be taking the Canon to work to capture the new fish-we have Nemo and Dory in now, and have expanded the fish range...and some other things to play with soon too!My new challenge will be to see if I can take fish photos,lol!

For Superprincess Ava

I know a great many wonderful people-some I have met,in real life, and some I have spoken to via the phone/internet. Yes, gorgeous readers,that includes you:) Tonight I would like to write about someone who has touched my life profoundly,and I didn't ever have the joy of meeting her. I happen to think her mummy is a beautiful soul,a magnificent photographer, and one of the bravest people I have ever spoken to.
The lady I am speaking of is Sheye Rosemeyer, and if you would like to see her gorgeous work, look here www.sheyerosemeyerphotography.com/ I adore her photos,and one day would love to take shots like hers:) However,it is not only her photography that touches me-it is the way she has endured the tragic loss of her precious daughter, AVA, and taken a very important message to all-look here www.avasrule.com/ . Tomorrow marks three years since Ava flew to be a special angel,and my heart goes out to Sheye and her family. Ava reminds me how special each moment really is, how precious life is, and I find Sheye's blog so touching..... so beautifully written. Tomorrow I will be thinking of Superprincess Ava,and I hope you will join me in sending Ava's postcard as an email tomorrow to raise awareness of children , and the danger the family car can pose.
Sheye,Crayton,Luca,Mason, and Ivy-if you happen to read this, please know you are all in my thoughts on this difficult day, and that you are a constant inspiration to me. Ava will be dancing in her tutu(perhaps with six other skirts) and I am sure she will be watching you all with very much pride and love. Your little daughter has truly touched so many people, and I know Ava will continue to do so-your most beautiful Superprincess.
Thankyou to you for sharing your darling girl with us Sheye. As a mother whom has also lost a child,your words soothe,bring hope,and succinctly describe the emotions/thoughts that I struggle to convey. You have made me treasure the few photographs I have of my daughter even more, and no longer feel I have to "hide" her away.For this gift i am forever indebted to you.xoxo

FOCUS...........

that is what I have convinced myself that 201o should be all about-FOCUS! After a rather long hiatus from bloggin,scrapbooking,and generally anything crafty or remotely relaxing, I have made an executive decision to focus on the things most important to me this year. In no particular order(excluding the first one) Family, myself,friends,reading, crafty stuff, and Photography. This year will be full of highs and lows, I am certain,but I wasted a great part of 2009 procrastinating, and in a worrisome dither for much of the second half. No more! I have reacquainted myself with my treadmill, restored my goals, and am eagerly looking forward to the rest of the year!
I haven't done much in the creative way for awhile now-however, I have become THOROUGHLY addicted to Cardmaking......omg, I love it!!!All of those lonely scraps relegated to a paper holder ahve once again seen the light of day! Stamps are being used once again, and I am spreading ink with gay abandon:) Oh, and lovin' it! Here is a card I made for Aleisha's little school mate just before Christmas. Apparently it went down a treat:) Gotta love those Kaiser papers, and how cute is that monkey???? I am loving brights again too. I have evolved lol...:0
My next little creation was for my friend's youngest son's birthday-how hard is it to make cards for young men/boys???Luckily Clayton is a little hoon,so I could use the CM stickers I have left over from previous projects, making a Diorama card for him.I found it hard to show the dimesion well, but there is three sections. I loved this one.

I have also been spreading my Photographic wings a little,taking the plunge with my first paid shoot. Please bear with me-the photos here are unedited-I dunno how to use Photoshop yet(thought I do have Elements now:)) and so these are straight off camera. I took HEAPS of shots, and have come to the conclusion that childrens' photographers are truly in a league of their own:) Two hours flew by so quickly, and I took something like 50 shots.....some keepers,some bad,but it is a learning curve,and overall, I was stoked to take a shot like this, as J was swinging by..:)!

His little brother *j* was a bit more challenging to photograph,but this photo is him to a tee. Such cute little men, and very funny!

Well, I know I have been absent for ages, and don't blame anyone for not looking,lol! I do solemnly vow to return more often!! I am off to visit the gorgeous FOREVER ALWAYS, catch up with some lovely lasses there and start some scrapping for 2010. Happy New Year to all!!!

Home From Holidays:)

Fraser Island was just as gorgeous as I remember from our last visit. This time,however,I took some better photos than last trip:) Every day the whales came past where we were camped, on their way for babies, and it was gorgeous to see them. The only downfall was they were too far out to photograph,and it was too windy and choppy to boat it out there to take shots:( I didn't take as many photos as I would've liked to, I was crook as a dog, and it was so windy, I just wasn't ready to wreck my camera. These little Pellies came by one afternoon, and let me get quite close-I took a few of them:) They will be scrapped for sure!!Will share more of my feathered friends once I have taken them all off the Canon.
I have been making cards today, for World Card Making Day! I have yet to photograph all of them, but I made this one for my little nieces' birthday in two days:) I used my DARKROOM DOOR Butterflies stamp set,and some SU stamps on the inside. This card is for Rachel's challenge over at Darkroom Door, for cardmaking day:) If you haven't tried their stamps, you really should-they are top quality, and give a stunning crisp image every time. They are a fave of mine:)

I was super honoured to be Guest Design Team member at FOREVER ALWAYS in September:) Part of my duties involved creating a layout for the Recipe Scrap on the 30th September. I did this one, and all of the layouts the girls have done for this are FABULOUS!! I was so stoked to have them join in with me:) Love these CM papers:)

I also got my entry in for Scrapping Word Pictures challenge for September- I remembered-YAY! This one was also done using the CM papers, and a photo of my wedding car...well, hopefully:) I LOVE Troy's F-truck-it is such a groovy truck!! I keep asking him to swap for my Camry,but alas, he hasn't taken me up on the offer yet,roflmao,can't think why......

Okay, some more Fraser piccies for you. This is the Maheno shipwreck,which has deteriorated somewhat since we last went to Fraser. I really wanted sunset shots,but things were against me, and I quickly jumped out the car to take what I could.

See that aqua water-it was like that in so many spots,just gorgeous. The photos aren't doctored( I don't know how,lol) but it was hard to really show the rich aqua it was.

She is such a mop head,lol! I don't think any hair product will ever tame that hair!!!

The ANATS (A Novel approach To Scrapbooking) challenge is in full swing over at Forever Always-this month we had to do a layout with a) something gold

b) 4 different pp's

c)hidden journalling, and

d) title from a chapter in the book-"Flowers In The Attic". Oh I loved that series!!! I chose the title "Holidays", and came up with this;-

Okay there everyone-I know I am a slack ass-it's just been super busy okay!!?? I have lots to share and tell, a Sneaky peeky, and some cards too:)
Firstly though-some exciting news!!! The lovley Sonia, from FOREVER ALWAYS, asked me to be a creative team member for thei r new challenge, that's happening each month at FA. i WAS SUPER CHUFFED, TO SAY THE LEAST!!! The challenge is called "A Novel Approach to Scrapbooking", and each month, we tale inspiration from awell known novel. Now, if you are a bookworm like me, you've just gotta join in. The sponsor, BOOMERANG BOOKS- they are giving a way a voucher for $30, to spend on more reading matter, each month,how cool is that???I'm excited:) This month, we are taking inspiration from the first installment of a fantastic series-you guessed it-TWILIGHT!!!! OMG- I loved those books, and what's more, we all have a natter about the book throughout the month too,so this month,there will be lots of chatter about Edward Cullen,lol! As an extra challenge, this month's layout had to be all red(VERY minimal black and white allowed)with a monochrome photo. I have morer news to share too about FA soon- just uploaded in a wierd order though! Here is a sneaky peeky of the layout I have just finished for this month's Scrapping Word Pictures challenge. I love recipe scraps, so this was right up my alley-using mega cool Motor Grunge papers I bought, made by Creative Memories, of all people. So far , I have created two layouts, and a card from this kit, and still have some left:)Here is my sneak!

I found that mesh in my stash, I think it would be about 5 years old.....but I put it to good use:)

Moving right along, and here is the layout I did for LAST month's Scrapping Word Pictures-except I forgot to send my entry-d'oh! again....I thought I had sent it..oh well, I really like the page-Jacob's money pit:)

I am really enjoying being scrappy again-I did this one for the Blind Challenge over at A2Z Scraplets-this layout was created entirely from scraps in my stash-well the pp anyway:) I love the way it turned out, and I used a pre-digi photo too.

Life has been super hectic 'round here-so much going on. Yesterday, the girls and I went to my friend Julie's son's birthday. Her mum made this train cake-it was yummo,and doesn't it l;ook great?? Had to take a photo:) The top part of the engine is a chocolate scroll cake-it was soooooo yum!

I thought it was very cute!! Jackson was turning big 3-I made him a card from bits and bobs-and the girls couldn't wait to give it to Jackson...

Nothing flash, but I thought it came out cute for a little boy card:)

Now for a big boy card-a Father's Day one, made from the CM papers I have used on my layouts.Very big boyish-don't you think;)

My F-I-L is a hoon, so it was appropriate-Happy Father's Day Dad-hope you had a great day:) Jacob did,I think, even though I bought him a Toblerone , which I didn't know he doesn't like, and he already had his present three days ago....motorcross clothes. Aleisha bought him some choccies from the school stall-apparently they taste awful......aaaah well, lucky it's soon Christmas hey??

I had a win over at FA with this layout from the August sketch-I still love this photo, and have entered it into a photo comp. I have also won the honour of being a Guest Designer over at Fa this month-so go and join in my challenges!!!!I have a cool challenge coming up for the Cybercrop next weekend,sure to get the mojo flowing:) Thanks again Sonia, and the gorgeous DT at Fa!!! I do love it there:)

I was going to enter the Design Team competition at my other favourite place to chat and scrap- BON'S SCRAPS. However, with family commitments in a week or so(which I will have looooooaaaaadsss of photos to share from) I decided it wasbest to step aside, and let those that could properly fulfill the duties join in. I think I will just be patient for next year:) The new challenges are up for September at Bon's so go check them out-Charm's challenge is fab, Tam's room is gorgeous,and the list goes on, but I won't give it all away! I won a vouchree for a layout I did for Sandie's Blind Scrap-but Photobucket wasn't playing nice, so I will share that one next time:)

A lot to share

Well, it has been ages since I blogged, I know. Everything has been so hectic of late, and there never seem to be enough hours in the day anymore!So, I got to it tonight, and decided to overhaul the blog, and post too!
I haven't been scrapping as much recentl;y, as a matter of fact, I hadn't been in my room much for WEEKS( unheard of)but the last two weeks have seen my mojo return:) Lovin it!! I have been pottering around with some different stuff, and also using stash that I have had for yonks too- always a bonus!!!
Today, we went to a Cool Companions party for one of Aleisha's school friends. The kids had a ball- there were three lizards, a Shingleback, a Blue Tongue,and a Spiky Tailed, also two snakes( shudder) a turtle( which slept through the party,lol) and a CROCODILE!!! His name was Snappy Tom, and he was a huge hit with the kids! Any how, I took the camera along-really hard spot to get decent shots, and I couldn't ask the dude to move all the critters for camera position,lol. Aleisha loved Stripey the Blue Tongue, and had a hold:) Bianca was zooming about too, and she loves the snakes-so she had her photo taken with one- the kids had to stand like "trees", hence the folded arms,lol!

I can't remember this snake's name- but it was only a wee one:) I decided to be brave- more for the fact that all the kids there are in Aleisha's class, and I help out, and they would never let me live it down if I didn't have a go- I am so proud, I held a SNAKE!!!!!! For those that know me, I am PERTIFIED, SCRAED S #*tless, of snakes, and of course, I enede up with the BIGGEST ruddy one there-her name was Flower.....an Olive Python, and I think about 5ft long-what was I thinking?????? I forgot to upload the photo,der, so will share next time...still can't believe I did it.

SOME PHOTOS,SCRAPPING,AND MORE PHOTOS!!!

Brace yourselves ladies and gentlemen, this here is a mammoth post!!!So much has happened the past month...no idea where to start,so I will start with the bad stuff. I haven't been around much due to the untimely hospital stay that Bianca and I had. Before I go any further,a HUGE thankyou to all of the staff in Surf ward at the Royal Children's Hospital-thanks for looking after Bianca so well,and being such Wonder Nurses!! To Dr McBride, and Dr Alex-thankyou for performing the surgery...Bianca has done so well, and chats about how nice you both were to her;) Bianca had to have her appendix removed , as they had ruptured-very scary, very agonising for her, and a lengthy operation due to an abcess that had formed behind the appendix.With the recovery, and the fact that I have just been plum tired trying to catch up again, this is why i haven't been blogging as regularly as I promised. But I'm baaaack!!
Oh, I finished my camera course-boohoo. I would go there all YEAR if I could!!! We had a great time again, and I learned heaps from the camera guru himself,Peter. Here he is , receiving his thankyou bottle of refreshment, and no-one has seen him since,lol!!!I reckon that white bear bottle would be very yummy...... I made him a card,using my Darkroom Door Photography stamps,he loved it:) I put a shot of our class in the card for him too, and we all chipped in for his Bundy,but I got him the good stuff,he deserves to be spoiled! This man is such a great teacher, I can't thank him enough for changing me from a timid camera owner, to a person who wants to take their camera EVERYWHERE!!

I have finally been scrapping again-OMG I have missed it heaps!!!I went to my friend Julie's last Saturday night, for a scrap session, and got two layouts done,gotta love that. I have also been chatting up a storm at FOREVER ALWAYS, and at BONS SCRAPS too. So many lovely ladies to chat to!!!
I have tackled my first sketch challenge for the month, at the FABULOUS FOREVER ALWAYS. Renae inspired this fabulous sketch over at FA- drop into the gallery and check it out-it is GORGEOUS!!! I would give you all alink, but I dunno how to do that:( One day I will get the hang of it,lol! But go and see the July Sketch, it is fabulous, and there are heaps of other lovely works of scrappy art to inspire you at Forever Always too,oh and it's CYBERCROP time this weekend as well!!!Oh, here is my layout that I did for the July Sketch, I turned it to accomodate my photo. I got to use my Glimmermist that I bought at the expo(Nic you super saleswoman you-so glad I watched your tutorial!!!)I used it on the Grungeboard flourishes.

I really need to start photographing my layouts with the Canon.They don't look as sharp on the little point and shoot! Loved this sketch Sonia, and Renae, and thanks for inspiring me like you always do!!!:)
Here is my layout for SONGBIRD SCRAPS first July challenge-the song is "MINT CAR" by The Cure.I haven't jouranlled on this yet, as I want to put some special stuff on there for Aleisha-this was taken on her birthday:) Yeehaw!!I did this one at Julie's , it just kinda fell together, definitely not how it started out!!!

This is my July layout for the first sketch of the month at Black Magic .This month we have a palette of Burnt Orange,Green,Cream,red, and Black.the technique is embossing.Here is my take on the first sketch:-

Love the Webster's alphas on here! Lucky the sheet has heaps!!!I think I will use them alot! I bought them with my winnings from Bon's May sketch:)

On the weekend I went to the Abbey Medieval Fest, with Chris and Julie from my camera courses.OMG-I had a ball, tok heeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaps of photos too! Here are some faves,in no particular order, these are just some of the many that I have uploaded from my camera. Let me just say, if you have never been to one of these,go the next time you get the opportunity-it was great fun!And the photographic topics!!!! This Turkish Dancer was just gorgeous....

Her costume was beautiful, very detailed, and she danced so elegantly too. The costumes were divine!!!
I also watched the Turkish Oil Wrestling-very funny-to think that in Medieval times, men did this until some of them died of exhaustion...roflmao...the gist of this is, they get smeared in Extra Virgin Olive oil(only the good stuff,lol) and then they wrestle in these pants that weigh 13kg or so. If they can't get a hold on the opponent properly, they can stick their hand down the opponents pants(?) and grab them by the bottom hem, and throw them to the ground. When these guys did that to eahc other, the crowd got very loud, and laughed so hard, that in the end, they cracked up laughing too!!!It was very entertaining, and I had a good chuckle!!

The Tourney of these men was great to watch-men fighting in chain mail-YAY!!! I really loved all things Medieval when I was younger, and it was my faveourite segment of Ancient History,next to Egypt. seeing the period costumes was fantastic, and some of them looked so authentic. All day ,I was spoken to in Ye Olde English-buying a drink was like you were royalty-m'lady! Very funny!!

The combat was awesome to watch!!!^^^^^ this is one of my faves from the day.

I think these guys fought the longest! One guy took three attempts to be "killed off", he just kept getting back up with smaller and smaller weapons,roflmao. Here is another dancer-this was taken just before the grand finale.Again, the most exquisite costume:) I am just sad her eyes aren't a bit sharper,but with a long lens,zoomed up, I was just happy to have her in the shot,lol!Especially hand-held:)

Now for my MOST FAVOURITE PART of the whole day-the fantabulous JOUST TILT!!!!!!! These riders were nothing short of spectacular to watch,my only regret is that we weren't higher up in the Grandstand, so we didn't have bars to contend with:( But this was where my camera lessons came in soo handy, using autofocus on a point,switching to manual, and panning with the horses-the shots were pretty clear considering. These competitors hit HARD, and the horses were so stunning-one a huge Percheron Black Stallion...he was magnificent. The regalia was just perfect,the horses looked like they had stepped out of a castle somewhere. These guys(oh and ladies too)travel the world doing this, one of them is an 8 year world Joust champion.... it was fantastic!!!!

The horse on the left of this shot was called Goblin-he was gorgeous too. He and his rider are the Champions at present, and have been 8 times...his horse would rear on command, made the whole thing more theatrical. Just awesome!!!The best $2 I ever spent!!!Needless to say, I took lots of the Jousting:):):)

That has been what my last (month-has it truly been so long???) has consisted of. I have sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many exciting things to share, and a few bits of scrapping, but not much:( The last few weeks have flown by, and I can honestly say, I haven't scrapped for nearly two weeks......I really miss it!!!
Firstly-huge thankyou's to a few peoples, whom are very special to me!!! Two lovely ladies I met at the convention in Brisbane-Lovely Louise Nelson, and Nicole Finlayson- two special scrap buddies, and truly inspiring , smashing people to spend the day with!!! I went in to the convention, my first time, on the public holiday, and met Lou and nic in real life, and they are SOOOOO FABULOUS!!!! Had an absolute ball, spent all my money(;) as you do!) and came home with Glimmermist and lovely stuff to play with-who could ask for more??? Thankyou for making my day so special Nic and Lou, and I just know it won't be the last time we meet!!! Another thankyou to Sue from ORANGE JELLY STAMPS!! My card above, won the Owl challenge that Sarahj from Inkurable Stampers featured on her blog recently-I took a photo of the stamps that I won, but Jacob has the little camera at work with him today, so I will share them later. They are awesome, and thanks again sooo much Sue!!! Can't wait to scrap again, and actually get to play with my stamps!!!!

I have still been chatting at my two favourite haunts, BONS SCRAPS, and FOREVER ALWAYS. Have an absolute swag of scrapping to do, and hope to get lots done before the end of the month!I did the Kitefest layout for FA'S 6th Birthday Extravaganza-I find bright colours so hard!!!

Well, in other news, Jacob and I got tickets to AC/DC!!!!!!!!I cannot wait!!!!This will be my second time to see them live, they really are just mind-blowing!!! Only another 8 months to go,lol!!! we are going along with our friends Carmen and Troy, so it will be a hoot! I know I will come home without a voice, oh, and with a new shirt of course:)

I started another course with my camera a few weeks ago, and I just love what we have been learning. I met up with some of my previous classmates, and we had a field trip to the city on Saturday. Took some great shots, one of which I absolutely love, but alas, I cannot share. We started the trip in Roma St Parklands, and while we were there, a wedding party came through-the bride looked absolutley STUNNING, and her bridesmaids had the richest ruby coloured dresses, just gorgeous.well, there we all were, cameras in hand as they came around the corner-the poor bride nearly died!!!Our instructor, Peter , asked the photographer and bride if we could take some photos, and they said yes, butwe aren't allowed to put them on the net or anything. I took one as they were "waltzing" and he spun her around and laids her backwards-I love the shot, and was so stoked to get it!!! We all had a great time, and watched the photographer in awe of her equipment!!!! Anyways, here are some I took on the night section of our trip-

Treasury Casino-all the people on the railing are people in my class-they had all finished snapping away, I had loaned my tripod , so took a few more when I got it back;) This one was taken from the river side.

My LSD photo,lol! I had a few attempts at this, zooming on a long shutter speed-my first one looked very psychedelic!!!A little TOOO much zoom!!! Good fun though! This is the casino from another side, don't know the name of the street, always get lost in Brisbane!!!

Light trails on North Quay. Unfortunately , no-one came toward me when I had the star filter for this shot;( But I still loved learning how they work, and playing!!!

Onw of my faves of the night-the Southbank Ferris Wheel. I am framing this one I think!!! We are now planning to meet up once a month to go out taking shots. Graeme, one of the other students, has bought a South East bushwalking book, so who knows where we will end up,lol!!!? I have another field trip this weekend, which will be fabbo!

I was especially lucky to be chosen for the Guest DT for AUSSIE SCRAPJACKED this month, by Gorgeous lou!!! Here is my take on the "jack". If you haven't checked them out-do go have a looksee!!!!

Lastly, but by no means least, here is a shot of me and Lou at the convention!!! Love you Lou, and I will be reloading this one, as I uploaded the wrong one, and now we are sideways,roflmao-sorry Lou, but it could only happen to me!!!!!!mwah-love you!!!

I went to the Kitefest with the girls today, and of course, I just HAD to take the camera along,lol! I took stacks of photos, but I have only uploaded a couple, as I am still trying to master Photobucket. This giant lobster was one of the kites there- he was HUGE!!! Took this one of Bianca and Aleisha- Aleisha thought she was going to end up in the ocean, so she was petrified!! She was actually a good distance away, but she got scared, poor missy!

I think it will get scrapped,lol! Here is my layout for the second challenge over at BLACK MAGIC SKETCHES-awesome sketch designed by Nat!! Go check it out and give it a go- the colours really rock with this layout!!

This layout I did ages ago for a tag challenge at Savvy- I finally remembered to upload it!!!It accidentally got deleted in the computer meltdown,so I had to take another shot.

Made this card with scraps, and another 3d sheet. I did this one for the ribbons and lace challenge at Inkurable, but then I changed my mind and did another one:)

I am trying out for the design team at ARTY PANTS. Each week we have challenges to complete, and then the new team member/s will be slected. Here is my take on the week one bonus challenge, which is the current Arty Pants sketch.

We also had to complete a layout inspired by an ad. I took these shots of Mr Grasshopper at my S-I-L's house. It's a shame the second photo looks so dark, as it isn't on the actual photo, but I suck at editing that sort of thing, so I left it alone:)

I know I promised a post DAYS ago, but things have been hectic, and I just haven't gotten around to it. I have done literally heaps of scrapping, and it's all stuff that I am really chuffed with too-bonus! Over the weekend, I got heaps done, one sitting had me up til three am!Without further adieu-here are my latest creations! First up, is my May layout for AUSSIE SCRAPJACKED. I absolutely adore the jack for this month-the super talented Ruby Bisson. I just had to have a go- and I don't think Renae would forgive me if I didn't,lol! I love this photo, and have been pondering how best to scrap it. As soon as I saw the challenge for this month, I knew it woulg get scrapped!!! I get to meet the gorgeous lou next month-which reminds me- I have to sort out the day I am going, and SMS the lovely lady, so we can meet up. :) Cannot wait!!!!!
Next is someone very close to my heart-my gorgeous little feathered friend,Smurf. He is a recent addition to my family:) This is my layout fro the first challenge at SONGBIRD SCRAPS. I have ben selected to take part in a challenge using that stamp, in conjunction with the gorgeous Sarh's INKURABLE STAMPERS blog. I have top create an item using that stamp, to be in the draw for some totally beautiful Orange Jelly stamps.........I went and checked out their site, let me tell you, I will be going shopping there- value for money, and some really funky designs too:)
I recently joined up at Bons Scraps. Yes, I know, I probably don't NEED to do any more challenges, but, after winning a prize from Bon, and fence sitting, I thought why not join? A few familiar faces are there too. Well, last week, they had their cybercrop, and Sandie set an awesome Blind challenge. I absolutely adore these!!!I collated my bits, and after placing toothpicks on my eyes, got it done in the wee hours of the morn. Another recent photography specimen. I dig bugs......

LOVE the way this turned out- and it got me hooked on some new things too:)

Another challenge was set by Bon, a colour challenge. You had to use grey(omg was my first thought)pink, black,purple, with minimum white, and a quirky title:-

Oh, and fabric too......with stitching. I actually did this one in the middle of the day. What is so bizarre about that? I NEVER scrap thru the week, in the daytime, always do the night owl thing.I was so stoked to get this page done.....Anna is a long time friend, and she is soooo much taller than me, and for many years she has been Miss raffe to me, hence the title.

Now, as if that wasn't enough to get me scrapping my head off, FOREVER ALWAYS, such a special place,hosted a SUPER CROP , for National scrapbooking Day, on the weekend.Sonia and the gorgeous girls issued heaps of challenges over the weekend, and one of them was to make cards with all of your scraps, before you clear the desk for the next layout, was suggested by Sonia. So that's what I did.I got so much done, and I am now going to try to do this each time I create now. Love the notion!!!

This one here, I created only from scraps- I got two layouts out of the lace cardstock,plus this card.BARGAIN city!!!Oh, the Heidi stamp is one I chose from my winnings from the lovely FA store. Thankyou Sonia,mwah!

My layout for the May colour combo at Forever Always. I would never have put those colours together, but I think they look fabbo.

One of the technique challenges was dare to tear. No cardstock( I was quaking in my boots) 3pp, 2 journalling blocks, and 1 stamp. Another one of Jacob on his new toy:)

My fave of the weekend woould have to be this page I think. This challenge was the current criteria for SCRAPPING WORD PICTURES. Another Blind scrap- the site is awesome too!!!!I have had these Darkroom Door papers for awhile, waiting for the right project. I love their range-sooooo yummy!

I am a huge music nerd, love to listen to just about anything. I have been like that ever since I can remember, so I thought it was high time I scrapped about it!!

I also did the challenge for the first may sketch at Crafty Sketches. This is a gorgeous, elegant sketch, and I used up some pp that have been sitting, patiently waiting to see the light of day:)

Bianca has been on a no photo rampage of late, which is why I have scrapped this shot twice- take what I can get,lol!My card from this one was supposed to look like shrub, but try as I might, I only see an ice cream now:( I used some flower stickers that the gorgeous 'Nae sent me in a rak-they are bright and foily, and very pretty;)

Well- there is so much Scrappy goodness out there to do- firstly the new challenge over at BLACK MAGIC SKETCHES. This is a layout I did , based on my sketch.You need to use Black, Pink, white, Silver, and some bling for this one....if all of the new challenges out there aren't enough to get the mojo flowing, nothing is!!! I can't wait to see the takes on the sketch, and the CT has come up with some gorgeous layouts!!!! It is a supercrop weekend over at FOREVER ALWAYS, and I have had a fabbo time completing some of the challenges- will have to take some pics in the morn!So far I ahve done three layouts, and three cards- totally happy with that!!!

I have had a few layouts that i haven't been able to share- this is one of them, for the April A2Z Scraplets blind challenge last month. I am really lovin recipes, and loved this page too.I haven't liked much Basic Grey for a little while, but love the Bittersweet range- and their new Lime rickey looks cute too!

I still have last weeks recipe from Sonia to do- gosh- where to start???? I have done two of the Bon's CC challenges too, but Blogger won't let me upload them, so i will put them up tomorrow too. It will be a big post,lol! One of them is another blind challenge- oh, so cool!!!

I have had the most fantastic week- good kids,lots of reading, and going out to play with the Canon....and being asked by Rachel Greig from DARKROOM DOOR if she could feature these next two projects on their blog!!!!!! OMG- to say I was excited was an understatement!!! I sent an email to Rachel, showing her what I had created with the stamp set I had won, and a layout I had done with other stamps from their range- not expecting to be asked if they could feature my work. Wow, and thankyou so much is all I can say- I am on a scrapping high!!!! This first layout is one I did with a shot I took the other day while out playing........I created this one for the April challenge at INKURABLE STAMPERS. The colour combo is Orange, Black and White. I thought this shot would work well with the Darkroom Door photography stamps, and I am so stoked with the way it turned out!

My card that I used some of my Wilderness set for:) I still love this card!Make sure you go and check out the Darkroom Door blog...their stamps are to die for,and Rachel's photography is delicious too! I will add a link over in the sidebar to them- might need Jacob's help there, coz at the moment blogger is giving me grief:(

Do you like my little butterfly? I put my hand up to do the Random Challenge over at the fabulous Forever Always!! You had to use paper piecing, and I have an Annie Lang pattern book from years ago....so I thought I would use it again. I put this little cutie on here:-

I really love the way this turned out- a very me layout, fiddly cutting, some stitching,flowers, and my new found passion, stamping:) The Basic Grey papers are luscious too!

Now for a photo share- I haven't taken any photos for a couple of weeks, and have been itching to play. My friend asked me if I could take a photo for her of a plant at her aunt's house....after i had taken those photos, I mosied around the garden, and found this little fellow. This is the photo from my layout above:)

I was so proud of this one- I zoomed up on the web on my camera, and the water droplets on the web are crystal clear- i loooove my camera!!!!I also took this in colour, but like it better in B&W- the web is much more visible.

We then went to the Botanical Gardens at Redcliffe, and I had a great time snapping away there too! I haven't uploaded all the pics yet, so I will share more next post:)This Gum had me intrigued, I love the shed bark hanging on the bough, and the fact that the texture really shows in B&W.

Just a random thing I saw, but loved, so i had to take a photo!

These purple flowers were amazing, and I was pretty happy with how clear this photo came out, considering the wind was up, and the flowers kept moving- oh, and I don't yet have a macro lens either!I just love the colour- and no, they haven't been edited- I haven't the foggiest how to use Picasa yet!

It's been awhile....

So grab your cuppa, and get comfy, coz we could be here all night,lol! I have sooooo much to share, and even then I don't think I have uploaded everything! I will start with one of my faves- I adore the recipe scraps over at FOREVER ALWAYS- and who wouldn't when you end up with a layout like this??? Our chef last week was the ravishing Renae- and thi is the gorgeous layout I created from her recipe. Love the way it turned out...even if I didn't quite follow directions, and forgot my left and right,lol! The added bonus is that I did this layout from stash scraps too- gotta love that!Last wekend was the fun of Cybercrop..and I pulled out some old photos for these layouts, and scrapped away!:)The first one is for Sonia's challenge,she chose the most awesome photo for inspiration. A fairly simple layout, but it turned out kinda cute!

That was such a fun day- and Aleisha looks so little in the photo!Paula's challenge was a FUN one- you had to use the word fun on your layout, and bright colours, with a cluster. Well, this is what I came up with, and Richard is gonna kill me when he sees I have scrapped him,lol!The things you do with a few Bundys under your belt!

Sorry about the not-so-straight photos- it's a miracle I got them here at all, with dogs trying to stick their heads in shots!Next is my layout for Kye's criteria-this photo is of my big brother Stephen, and was taken in either 1983, or1984. I haven't scrapped any photos from years ago for ages, and originally I had this out for the colour combo challenge. I used an old onion bag on this layout- even recycling while scrapping!

I am totally in love with Thickers......love their fonts!!!

If you haven't already, you really need to check out the challenge over at SONGBIRD SCRAPS. The songs to choose from are Kasey Chambers" CAPTAIN" lyrics, or Cold Chisel, 'When The War Is Over"- I went with Chisel-love Barnsey, and couldn't get the flow happening with Kasey- even though I had photos from her concert, and tickets....just didn't happen for me. I had to scrap another photo of Aleisha in her Easter Hat!

I can't believe she is nearly five now- what happened to my little baby???Speaking of babies, my friend Carmen has the CUTEST little puss, called Opal. I took my camera over to show Carmen the other week, and Opal was jumping around on her scratch post like a mad thing. I honestly didn't think she would stay there, much less look at the camera! I was really happy with this one- animals are so much harder to photograph than kids!!!

Now, onto some cards! The first one is a card I made for my M-I-L, as it is her birthday in a couple of weeks. Cuttlebug Challenges has some great inspiration, the theme for this weeks challenge was numbers. I had already started this card, so I thought I would finish it off with some numbers run thru the Cuttlebug.

Not quite how it looked in my head, but that's okay- I won't eneter that card- you should see the AMAZING stuff other people have done-think i will wait for this weeks challenge,lol!

I have been making up Mother's day cards too, still have two to go, but I was happy with this one-

I love 3d fiddly stuff, and the papers for this have been buried in my stash for ages...I love Orchids!I did try to upload the close-up- but Blogger didn't like that photo for some reason:( Temperamental thing!!!

Well, I am off to scrap some more- my A2Z challenge, an Evil random Challenge, and hopefully a sketch, or Scrap The boys page,maybe??? I would like to do some challenges for Bons too this month-time is running away. An Easter Parade!

Isn't this just the cutest Easter hat? I went along to Aleisha's Easter Hat Parade at school the other day- the kids looked gorgeous in their creations! All of the prep kiddies made their own hats in class- this was Aleisha's creation:). I am so glad that she got to go along, after being so sick at the start of the week!Of course, I couldn't wait to scrap the photos, so here is my April Scrapjack layout , a gorgeous layout to jack too! Well, what can I say, I have had the most awesomely scrappy weekend/month. Of late, I seem to have had a lucky streak-maybe 2009 is my year after all!I have been sinking my teeth into some different things of late- trying to learn some new techniques and spread my scrappy wings. In the process of this, I have come across some amazingly talented sites, and some really friendly people too. Thanks to all of you lovely people out there! One of those is Rachel Greig, who owns DARKROOM DOOR. I won a stamp set from her a few weeks back, The Wilderness Collection Vol 2, and finally gotthe chance to make a card with the set! This is my card for the Cuttlebug Challenge for this week- you have to use Kraft, black and white/ivory. Oh, and your Cuttlebug too! Also, you had to do a clean and simple card- I think I managed that with this one- Love the way it turned out, and I think you could use it for a ladies or mens card.Love the stamps!! Thanks again so much Rachel!
Jacob celebrates his birthday today, and I made him this clock, to put on his computer desk. I didn't think at the time that the computer already has the time on it...doh! Oh well, he liked it- I made it ages ago, and have had it hidden so he didn't find it:)

Look at the GORGEOUS RAK that the beautiful Renae sent me!I love it!!!!!She also gave me some yummy lace , which I have already started to use. Thanks Renae- you made my day, love ya!!!!

Over the weekend, Sarah from Inkurable Stampers had her Cyberstamp. I finished the projects,yay! This is challenge number two, which you had to use 5 stamps to complete. This is my first attempt at an accordian card- it looks cute, but I think I will try to be more arty on my next one,lol! Love the super cute Easter stamps though:)

We also had to make a TWINCHIE. A twinchie is a two by two inch creation. I used some Tim Holtz inks I have had for ages( and never used until recently*blush*) and a Lucy's Stamp locket stamp for this one. They are lots of un, and I can see myself making MANY more to come,lol!I figure this one I can use on a crad, or a scrapping layout somewhere- limitless really~!

Last share for today, but by no means least...is my layout for the first challenge for BLACK MAGIC SKETCHES for April. Awesome sketch to work with, and the colours you need to use are Black, with red, green and blue. Go check out the blog if you haven't already- lots of inspiring ladies on there!!! With two sketches each month,that's another two in your album!!! I used up things from Aleisha's school year so far- her award for tryin hard in P.E, a painting, and her name that she wrote. I really treasure these little things, and thought in years to come, she will look back on this page, and remember all the things she did in Prep.

An INKURABLE ADDICT!!

Well, this weekend I have been trying to get challenges done for Sarah's Inkurable Stampers blog Cyberstamp. This is like a cybercrop, but with a stamping edge to it:) The first challenge was to create a Birthday card from a sketch...this is the one I came up with. My Cuttlebug has had quite a workout the last few days. If you get a chance, go join in the fun at Inkurable Stampers, this month Sarah has a really cool colour combo of orange,black and white. I still have to do that challenge! I love owls- think they are so cute!I also love how you can use up stash making cards, I fear they are becoming addictive!!!
My next little layout is for the recipe scrap for FOREVER ALWAYS. Kye had this recipe, lovingly shared by Sonia, for us all this week. I love these, they are so much fun to do. I still have to do the previous one, just haven't gotten to it yet;0This one used up more bits from my ever-growing paper collection!!!Oh, and it's Kaiser too,lol!

Isn't she sweet? That is our new baby, Nelly. She is such a cute little girl, and just fabulous with the kids too....we love her to bits!Mind you, it was bloody hard to get her to sit still for a photo!

My Puzzle Sketches layout for April. This is Jacob's money pit...but I love the Nissan too! We have had it for ages, and I realised that I haven't any photos of it, so I was playing with my camera the other night, and snapped away some shots of the truck. I think Jacob even liked this page:)

I went and checked out Aussie Pub Calls the other day, and found Cuttlebug Challenge-well, hands up if you're like me, and have a Cuttlebug that you don't use nearly enough?So, I jotted down the sketch, and made this one for my nephew's upcoming birthday in May. I love the way this turned out! The papers are from Stampin' Up, the Outlaw range. I will be following their blog now, to make better use of my Cuttlebug!

Well, March is gone, and with it has another chunk of the year...I can't believe that it is April Fool's Day today!Did anyone get tricked? I didn't, but with a headache, I haven't been jolly, so I don't think anyone was up for playing tricks,lol!Some scrappy stuff to share- I don't remember whether or not I already uploaded this one- it's the Mersyndol and Anagraine fuzz, sorry! This was my Puzzle Sketches entry for March. I just adore this photo of Cheyenne, she is soo sweet! I think I will scrap this photo a hundred times!!!
I had planned on scrapping today, but other plans were sent, so I didn't. I really want to get started fro April, but I don't think I could concentrate, which really bums me out:( It's Recipe scrap night at Forever Always tonight- but I will do it tomorrow I think.I don't normally scrap throughout the day, but I am willing to make an exception!!!:)

I did this layout to remind myself in years to come, how scared I was of my new camera! Honestly, I swore I was gonna break something on it, or jinx it! I have 3d raised the flower cluster on the left, and treid to not detract from the photo too much. This is still one of my favourite shots I have taken, hopefully one of many to come!

I am finally uploading some more of the photos I have taken in my journey to learn with the 450D. I am enjoying the whole photography thing immensely, and have a swag of books to read on the subject, and take notes from.I took a couple of layout shots(sorry,can't reveal yet) this morning, and it was sooo much easier to hold steady than the little Olympus! Isn't it funny what you get accustomed to?Firstly, here is a card I created with my leftovers in the Mummabushka range...I really love these papers. Trying to be organised for Mum's Day in a few months-get the cards made in time:)My card nearly blew away,so it isn't as sharp as it should be lol! Now for some photos from my course. Our second field trip was held at PHIL BOWLES PHOTO ARTISTRY at Clontarf. We got to experiment in his studio, and I loved every minute of it!! I got this photo of Vickky's little nephew Riley....if only I had focused on his eyes,doh! It would have been a much better photo, but alas, the camera honed in on the handlebars, unbeknownst to me at the time:( Oh well, I still love the shot, and it is ten times better than those I used to take!

Isn't he a spunky model? He was so co-operative, and such a little character- he made our tasks so easy!!!

Next was my foray into silhouettes. Not the world's greatest photo, but I was practising bracketing, and this was, afetr all, laken above my neighbours fence,lol!At the wonderful time of 4.45 or so in the morning too..unholy hour!!!If only I had known more then, I could've made this a better shot too- but I am really enjoying learning!

Well, I best go and finish my DT layout for Black Magic! I also have my Puzzle Sketches layout sitting half completed on my desk too- lots to do! Take care and have fun!!!

I have been using heaps of their products lately, and just love how every project turns out with their goodies:) I would have to say, one of my faves at the moment is the Mumma Bushka range- just love the little dolls. I had a fascination with them when I was little, and evidently nothing has changed,lol!This layout is my entry for the March Scrap The Girls challenge. A totally gorgeous sketch to work from btw:). I didn't realise until just now that the 3d stuff has thrown shadows on the layout- I was in such a rush this morning to get a piccie.I have gone full circle with my scrapping, back to the old favourite techniques again, and loved every tedious minute of the stitching on this layout:)

Another fave habit is fiddly cutting/3d stuff. This is my 123 entry, and it took a little while,lol! I really got into this layout, and it just kind of worked, and I used up some papers that I have had for rather a while.

I think i have nearly scrapped every photo from Malissa and Scott's wedding- I have found them so easy to scrap. If only I could look that resplendent in a dress,roflmao! Mal's gown was to die for, and just looked so spesh-love ya dear sister in law!!

I always feel so good after visiting Braydon, he now comes up and gives me a big cuddle, and a peck if he is going out:) Makes my day to not be the daggy aunt,lol!

Speaking of daggy- here is a recent photo of me! This is my layout for SONGBIRD SCRAPS second March challenge, and I love how it turned out, and yes , more Kaiser!!! I do actually like this photo, my instructor, Peter Jendra took this shot of me. Finally, I am starting to notice the over eleven kilos I have shed this year, so far. Mind you, I have been reeeaaallly naughty this week, but there is no hurry:)

In other news, I have found a new hairdresser, and she did an awesome job!! I haven't had too much success in the coiffure department of late. My last hairdresser moved into the city, and he was awesome!!!:( But, now my hair doesn't resemble an unruly mop!

I have had my nose in a book alot the last few days, I am working my way through all of Jodi Picoult's books, and the one I am reading is brilliant. If you are a bookworm, go check out "Vanishing Acts"- it's a fabbo read!Due to this, I haven't scrapped as much as normal, but I am winding myself up again. I have one more FOREVER ALWAYS challenge to do fro the month, and a couple of others to do. then the slate is ready for April!

Well, I am off to do a bit of Photography reading/study before bed. I have a huge night planned in my scrap room tomorrow night, let's see if it becomes reality!Ciao for now!

As if we didn't already have enough to do in our lives, our computer decided to die...grrrr..you don't realise how much time you devote to them until that happens! I have some goodies to share, though I must say, I have been a little slack-without a computer to share them, I haven't done as mush scrapping as usual! All sorted now, so that should see a return to the late nights, and the blogging merrily again!
In the last week, I have also finished my firsat photography course, and I am so sad it ended! Thankfully, it looks as though we will have a second one, starting in June...and I am also going to google correspondence courses too. I have been bitten by the bug hugely, and find myself with nose in DSLR magazines, books, and looking wistfully out the window at sunsets...I know, I am a sad case,lol!I have also started to set myself up to take it to the next level, and get evn better at it! My poor family will really be sick of my lens soon!
Okay, well, what can I share- firstly, I recently went to a friend's 40th birthday bash, and she had an '80's dress up party- it was AWESOME fun, and of course, I took my camera:). Well, the theme for this month at Pink With 1 blog, is LIME AND PINK, and guess what, they were the colours for her party, so I decided to make her a mini album, with the shots I took. I made a card for her too, a little simple, but I liked it:)The flower on there is actually 3d- I was having a bad lighting day, not to mention that I also have two dogs that are vain, and want their photo taken,lol!

I really hope Kelane likes it- will have to drop it off this week, and have a natter at the same time.Oh, my next layout has her gorgeous little boy on it- he was hamming it up for the camera, and I love the photos I got of him! I have done this one for the Mid Month sketch, at the ever fantastic, most beloved FOREVER ALWAYS!Not quite to plan that one, I had more in mind for it, but a particular young daughter of mine decided to get into my inks the other day, while I was at work, and filled the corner of this layout with hot pink ink...so I had to cover it up, I didn't have anymore green card that colour- by jingo I was stroppy when I found my layout!!!!

My last share for today, is the layout I did for the super spunky renae's sketch at FOREVER ALWAYS!!! This is me with Anna, my friend of many years. I went with my family to her boys' christenings the other day, and we went back to her place afterwards.We haven't had a photo together in over 13 years- I should scrap an old one of us- ooh now I am inspired!!!!

The papers I used for this one, are the stunning Little Yellow Bicycle papers from Sonia. I have raised the flowers a little with foam tape, and added some bling. Hand-cut title( please ignore the dodgy d!)and the little stamped circle is one I recieved in a recent swap.Love it!!!

Goodness, it feels like an eternity since I blogged! I had a huge weekend, filled with family(gotta love that)and housework...notso good! However, I did get lots of scrapping done too! I finished my layouts for the Memory Album donation, made some pink swap stuff for the Scrap The Girls swap this month, and I did these two:- Th Eli Creek layout is my week 6 entry for the TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMPETITION at FOREVER ALWAYS. By comparison to the other ladies, my entry looked a little lame:( I really am not arty! We had to use aboriginal art, a heritage( pre digi) photo, and draw inspiration from a fabulous artist. I can't believe that six weeks have flown by, and it's all finished! Gosh, 2009 will go as fast as 2008!!!

There is an absolutely AWESOME sketch on for this month at FA too!!! Go check it out! I did my Mr Smith layout for this month's sketch challenge, and I am soooo happy with this one! Sonia, I am telling you, you are converting my colour choices,lol!I was very proud of myself, this was my first full manual photo with the Canon! I know, it's prolly not THAT exciting, but it is for me!Well, must go take kids to school now, and off to work for the day:) Take care!

I am never up this early....so, as sleep was eluding me, I thought I would share some pics from the field trip I wnet on yesterday afternoon. All in all, I took over 200 photos, some good, some not so good,lol! Part of the learning curve! We had to take photos of moving objects to help us master shutter speed, I had my gorgeous nephews come along as bike models...doh! I forgot to upload those ones....ahh well, that will be a job for next post! We practised panning, and took some shots of the bike wheels to freeze the spokes in the shot, etc.Great practice!!! Here are a couple of my faves from the outing...I have a fabulous silhouette shot that I took, but don't know which folder Jacob saved it to for me,lol! I was really chuffed with these shots! I know I still have oodles to learn, but the fact that I got more than one shot to look like this, I was so pleased!The legs you can see in the top of the photo(bugger!) are the rest of the class waiting for their turns to come down to water's edge to play!

I got a little carried away when I was down there-I think Ihave about 18 shots of this little waterfall! I also got roped into helping model, to demonstrate the ways you would pose different shots, like brother and sister portraits, engagement photos,and wedding style. All I can say is I have now been bitten by the photography bug BIG time, and can't wait to play more!!!

Well, I am off to scrap now peoples! First layout of the morn will be my March sketch layout for FOREVER ALWAYS- that wonderful place to shop, chat, and be inspired!!! See you all there, and thanks for dropping in:)

Hasn't this just been the biggest saga for our family????We have had this pool since OCTOBER....and due to Christmas/New Year, and the worst of all,RAIN, it has been held up, and then put in the ground,only to be taken back out again.....but at last-it's done!!!! Now we have the landscaping around it to do, but that's going to be a relaxing job to do. I love pottering about in the garden, and don't get to do it nearly enough.Can't wait. I am off on my first field trip this afternoon, and am eagerly awaiting that! I tried to figure out the whole card reader bizzo by myself, but it kept saying I needed something else, rather than ruin something on the computer, I will harass Jacob to help me at a later time:) That will be on the to do list tonight I think, after I have been out today with the camera!
No scrapping to share, I have a layout on the go, but not yet finished. Another job for tonight!Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! Take care,and I will be back soon:)

Afterv another fabulous night out at Photography course, i am totally and utterly besotted! I can now do things with my camera that I only dreamed of doing before!Today, I had a bit of a play with it, and took some totally manual photos...yes, I know, I am a slow learner, since I have had the camera since December, but I was paranoid that i was gonna break it! My next amazing feat will bre to upload to here...I got a card reader last night...so I may have a play after blogging!
I have decided to post a teensy glimpse at my tag layout , that Kerryn has organised. I love the idea of Chinese Whispers in Scrapping form,lol! So,here it is:----- Sonia- you have now inspired in me a love of reds:) Believe it or not, the background paper for that layout is Christmas paper! I am totally enjoying this new phase of scrapping, experimenting with patterned paper alot more, and just generally trying everything!!!:)

Speaking of trying everything, I had a go at the March sketch at A2Z scraplets. Loved this sketch, and I am really happy with how the layout turned out!Love the new Bazzill Swiss Dots....yummm!

And so that the little 3d bit could be seen a little easier, I took a pic of it too. I love fiddly stuff,but have not found many papers around of late to satisfy the fetish...but these Spirograph pps looked like they would be fun! Oh, and btw, they are Kaiser too,lol!

The butterflies I have mounted on acetate, and then bent the wings up. I love butterflies:)

Well, I am off to play with my card reader! If I can figure it all out, it will be great-it's probably not too hard, just I suck at computers!!

Don't forget to get your pages off to Sara Gladman for the Memory album project....not many days to go. I plan on doing a few more to send. I still won't watch the news...I just feel too angry/sad/and overwhelmed ny the whole thing, to think that some bas@#$d lit those fires for kicks.....it incenses me. I don't live nearby, but I just feel for all Victorian residents. Take care everyone:)

Why am I excited I hear you ask? With a new month, means a heap of new challenges to tackle of course! The last two months I have really enjoyed spreading my wings a little, and trying some of the new challenges that are online. I have a list as long as my arm to create for March. I have just finished a layout for a Scraplift tag challenge over at Savvy. Kerryn has co-ordinated it, and I think it will be great fun! The concept is to have a list of people, and a layout to start, you scraplift it, then your layout is emailed to the next person, and so on, until everyone has done theirs. Then the big reveal happens at the end. I did a layout that was rather different for me- it combines all the elements I love...flowers, stitching, some cutting out-but I tried for a slightly different look to the norm. Kerryn's layout is FABULOUS!!!!!! Can't wait to share:)
Speaking of sharing , here is my layout for the first sketch for March over at BLACK MAGIC SKETCHES. I won't reveal any more of the criteria...you will have to go have a looksie for that! This is my awesome nephew Jonathon...he is a funny man:) I can see him growing up to be a dare-devil, into fast cars like his Aunty Shelly and Uncle Jacob, and a girl stopper!!!! Next is my first March DT piece for SONGBIRD SCRAPS! I absolutely love the way this layout turned out!!!The Kaiser pps are smashing, and I love the colours!Bianca has been teaching her little sister to ride without training wheels lately, and this day, Aleisha had finally started to get the hang of it:)Turning corners is still proving to be a mission, but practise makes perfect,lol! I just love it when I can get photos of them playing together peacefully...quite a feat!!!

My week 5 layout for the TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMP at Forever always. This one we had to draw inspiration from either the Daintree(green,one other colour, tree/frog, and embossing) or The Alps. I went for the first theme, as I didn't have any photos left that I thought would be suitable for an all white theme.This is my Meg when she was little...now she is a big, white hairy beast!!!Again, Kaiser pps, and I just adore the owls!!! I was really happy with this one...and then disaster struck. :( I finished this layout on Saturday morning before work. I left it on my table, and merrily went on my way. When I came home, I kid you not, my layout was bent in half like a banana. Oh, I was livid!!!!The glue I used has evidently shrunk back, and ruined it....grrrrrrr....so pissed off!!!!In the last week, I have had rubons that won't adhere, and now Scrapbooker's glue that has wrecked my page. Not happy Jan!!!! I normally don't use this glue much, it's just that I had a larger area of fiddly cut out to adhere.....grrrr. That's my whinge for today!

On a happier note, I won the most FANTASTIC, FABULOUS prize!!!!I never really go into blog candy type draws, I usually forget to leave comments, and such. Weeellll, I have been eagerly following the goings on, and GORGEOUS new releases over at DARKROOM DOOR. If you haven't been for a visit there, Rachel has gorgeous new stamps just released. well, I got excited, and loved what I saw(I have a couple of her sets, and papers too) and decided to leave comments. I won one of the new releases!!!!!The Wilderness Set Vol 2 is the set I have won!!!! To say I am excited is an understatement!Cannot wait to have a play with those...they have fabbosentiments, and beeeyyooootiful, crisp images. Thankyou Rachel and Stewart, you have made my day!

Look what I made last night....

I love using up scraps!I have a HUGE folder, with all these bits of card, and paper, that will probably never see the light of day again. I needed to make some birthday cards,and I also wanted to do the first card sketch for Miss Hippy Chick, where the gorgeous,divine, Renae is on the Design Team. I love these Kaiser papers, and had heaps left over, so I made this card for the first sketch.I haven't used my Cuttlebug much of late, so it got a workout too.:) This was a really easy sketch to work from! Go check it out!!!
I was in a cardmaking frame of mine then. So I dug out some stamps, and more scraps, and made this card for my B-I-L Richie. I find masculine stuff a lot harder than girlie stuff.But I was happy with this one. The card is made using the same sketch, just turned on it's side,and no taggy bit.I put some droplets on instead.

I'm off to finish my TBASC layout, I just need to stick everything down, hopefully before I go to work. Bye for now!

Yes, the above portion is a sneak peek at the layout I have done for the first March challenge at wonderful Songbird Scraps . The first challenge for March is only a day away now folks!I can't wait to see what everyone creates for this one,some fabulous lyrics to choose from:) My apologies if this photo looks a little funny, I had a dog trying to stick her head in the way, a cat who sat almoston top of my layout, and cloudy skies to contend with!Oh, and I think Jacob's camera has been "adjusted"by two lovely children. I was in a rush to get these photographed before work, and well, you know the rest.:)
I am looking forward to March! Our pool should be finished in the next day or so, andI have two field trips coming up in March for the course I am doing. I got my tripod yesterday-yahoo!Just a uv filter, and of all things, a cleaning kit to get for my camera, and I think I have all I will ever need. Oh, and a card reader too:0 The shopping list grows larger,lol!
In March, I want to get to all of the challenges that I missed this month, so I will have lots of layouts to share ! I did heaps of scrapping in Feb, but as there was so much I wanted to do, I ran out of time. But one good thing came of that, I am scrapping faster now,lol!
In January, I never got around to the Colour Combo challenge at FOREVER ALWAYS, but I did this month! I got three layouts done last night(can't share the others yet,sorry)and this was one of them:-

Isn't that just the most wicked little grin you've ever seen?Red is becoming a fave of mine now, I used to avoid it, but Sonia has got me addicted! The bonus on this layout was that I got to use up a sticker that I have had for SEVEN years! I bought that monster truck sticker when I first started scrapping, in 2001......it was from my first shopping spree, at a LSS. They had this whole wall of stickers, and in those days I only knew of Creative Memories style of scrapping, and bought soooooo many stickers, it's ridiculous. So it was nice to use up something from a bygone era,lol!
Well, off to scrap some more, my layout for the TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMP. at Forever Always is sitting on my table, waiting for me. I have some lovely Jose Cuervo Vivezo's waiting in the fridge too...yum:)

Sneaky Peeky...

Hi folks....yes, I know I am fashionably late, but I had to get some sleep! I was absolutely exhausted, so decided that rather than half-assed scrapping, I would have an early night or two, and get back into it! As promised, here is a sneak peek into my layout for March - from BLACK MAGIC sketches....All will be revealed on the first of March, but let me say this...the first sketch is AWESOME!!!!!! I was stoked that I finally got to scrap some photos of a special nephew who always misses his time in the limelight somehow. I will post my Songbird sneaky as soon as I have finished fluffing about with my layout, just a few bits of fine-tuning left to do:)So you will have to wait...sorry:)
I had a humungous weekend scrapping my head off, for the cybercrop over at FOREVER ALWAYS. Awesome fun, and this time I finally got to play bingo!!!Yahoo- every single time it is on, I miss out:( This weekend though, I got to play, what a laugh!!!!Great fun, and a big thankyou to gorgeous Paula for staying sane, while we FA ladies went beserk!!!! I was so excited when i had a win too- woohoo!This is my layout for Challenge#4 from the cc. We had to use lyrics from a song,a heart, and a bottlecap- "You Light Up My Life" was my take.

For the second challenge, we had to use some form of hybrid scrapping, stitching,and family/friends as inspiration. Mr Giraffe, you have been scrapped!!!!!I had a visit from my friend of over sixteen years, Rob, a.k.a Giraffe.Thanks again for my fabbo stubby cooler for the bar Mr Raffe, and for being my friend through thick and thin:)I hope you like the layout-of course it had to have something to do with Holdens!!!!!:)))

The emblem was cut on our signcutter by my beloved Jacob, so that was the hybrid bit taken care of! For those that aren't aware, I really suck on a computer,lol!I also used a clothing tag from a shirt of mine,yes, I am a Holden fan too!

Started my Photography course last night, and it is excellent! I found my 450D very daunting, so many controls, and even after reading the manual a bit, I was lost.Last night, after some excellent tuition, the penny dropped, and now I am really looking forward to exploring the camera so much more!!!We have a field trip in two weeks, and I can't wait!

CYBERCROP WEEKEND!!!

It's that fabbo time of the month again at FOREVER ALWAYS(my home away from home,lol),yep,you guessed it-CYBERCROP TIME!!!After awakening at the truly ridiculous hour of 5.15 a.m this morning, I got up and started scrapping...after all, everyone was asleep, and I didn't want to wake them with noises of me doing chores. Today has been an immensely scrappy day- I managed to get THREE-yup,count 'em-THREE cybercrop layouts done today!!!!Michelle is the official Cybercrop Queen this month, and the challenges are awesome!!!!!I haven't photographed two of my layouts, but I will upload them tomorrow.This is my layout for Challenge#1- Aleisha loves bowling, and relished partying with Bianca at the bowling alley for Bianca's recent birthday.Now that she is a big school girl, she can bowl herself, even carrying the ball to the frame. Not the best photo, as the Bowling centre was dark, but a cute photo still:)

Paula hosted the Recipe Scrap at FA this week. I love these nights! I have wanted to scrap these photos for weeks, and now I had the chance!I'm beginning to understand the fascination with heavy patterns on paper:)Miss Paula,if you have dropped by again-thanks for the inspiration!!!mwah!

The TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMP is still in full swing too. This week the theme is The Outback. You have colour choices, I chose the red/yellow combo, and scrapped some of Bianca's artwork from school. I hope when she grows up she will appreciate a scrappy mum, who kept every artwork possible to pass on!Isn't her mask great- they made them to celebrate Chinese New Year:)

Now for my super exciting news.......drumroll please!!!I have been chosen to be a Design Team member for BLACK MAGIC sketches!!!!!!I am only new to the site, butADORE the sketches!!! We have two challenges each month,with certain colour combos to follow, and sketch design too. For some reason I can't get the ruddy Demtel man outta my head....hence the title of this post!!!I have been scrapping along merrily these last few days, getting heaps don e, crossing things off my to- do list.The gorgeous Renae has added to my monthly to-do list now, as she was selected for the Miss-Hippy-Chick card Design Team! So, of course, I will play along at home! They have some fabbo sketches, so if you get the chance, go have a lookie! I love the layout I did for Scrapbook Savvy's scraplift. This photo of Cheyenne and I may not be the best photo, but I adore her, so I adore the photo too! Lately I have been venturing out of my safety zone a little- these Kaiser papers are a bit bright to what I would normally use, but they worked well here!Speaking of Kaiser, I have used heaps of their product of late-dunno why, their stuff has just grabbed me of late.

This layout of me(again a bright one,lol!) is for the second challenge for February, at Black Magic sketches. Again, you had to use certain colours with the sketch- I'm lovin' the owls!!! Getting photos of Jacob is rather like pulling teeth, so I was stoke d to get these of him and Aleisha playing on the quad.Of all things, Jacob decided to climb the step with the bike...nearly got run over taking one of these!!!Fun stuff, that happened on Bianca's birthday.....I need to take more of these sorts of photos! Just random stuff,capturing our day-to-day. This layout is for the Savvy Ad challenge, set by Kerryn. I loved this one, but kept it pretty simple.

I am on the countdown now, only 5 days to go til I start my Photography course!!!!To say I am stoked is somewhat of an understatement, I truly cannot wait! I have been poring over my user manual, to try and be ready:)

Lots to share too!!!! We have been super busy here of late, and I have been baking and all sorts too, and having some much needed me and significant other time! Jacob and I have sat up chatting and telly watching, and I have loved just "being" with him. I have major scrapping withdrawals though! Here is my latest edition for the TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMPETITION over at the ever fantastic FOREVER ALWAYS!! We had some pieces, like Puzzle Sketches( oops, mental note, haven't done Feb challenge yet!) and we could only add one more thing, and we had to use either photos of a building, or a bridge.I took these pjotos from Bribie last year, and they have been in the "To Scrap" pile....well, not anymore, they are now scrapped!I took ages to get this one done- thankfully I am off and running with this weeks challenge though! Here is my February White With One layout- I totally love how this turned out! It's not often that the creaive path stays true...this one looks exactly like it did in my head! I reckon I will still be scrapping Malissa's wedding shots for the next three years,lol!Jacob had to help me drive my circle cutter though-it has been yonks since I used it, and lateral thinking just wasn't happening the other night!

She has an AWESOME tutorial on her blog, and she is a wonderful supporter of those who have lost so much in the Victorian Bushfires. Oh, and this was kinda fun!!!

Yeah, I know, perhaps a little plain, but I wanted it to look a little elegant, as it was for my friend's 40th.Then I changed my mind, as it is my S-I-L Tammy's birthday next week, and she loves handmade cards...so it's hers now,lol! But I have stocked up on gloss card to make more:)

My B-I-L is such a big kid, and I swear he only operates machinery so that he never loses the kid in a sandpit feeling! When he dug out our yard the other week for our pool, he was pulling stunts and moves on the machine...just like a boy with his Tonka trucks, so of course, I had to take some shots!!! Richie you have been scrapped too now! I loive how all of the team have come up with something totally different too- I wanted a masculine feel to mine, hope I did it!!!

So excited to learn today that I had won a prize from the January SCRAP THE GIRLS challenge! I have won a voucher to spend at Bon's scraps.....more stash,lol! I also won some lovely dollars off ata the glorious FOREVER ALWAYS last week too:) Goodness...now I have to go and figure out what to buy:)
I have had a great time scrapping the last few days-I have done the second week layout for the TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMPETITION over at FA. We had the theme,"The Bush" this week...with the choice of two sets of lyrics to use. I chose an all time fave,'Waltzing Matilda", and used this photo of a lamb for my Jolly Jumbuck page. This one had me stumped for days, but I got there in the end. I also got into the February Scrapjack of Kate Mason's layout- I just love this photo of my nephew Taylor, and got a bit grungy with the painted background.It just fell together,which was great,as that doesn't happen too often for me:)

Oh, and as promised, here is the full version of my C.T layout for SONGBIRD SCRAPS first challenge.....not just a sneak peek. I have scrapped this photo of Jacob before, but photos of him are rare, so I usually get more than one layout from a shot! He has been a hapless camera victim of late though, asd he has been doing things that he can't avoid the camera with,hehehehe.

Lately I have used a bit of stash that has been kicking around for awhile-next time you scrap,take a glance through your stash, what you are looking for may be right under your nose! Don't forget the awesome challenges at FA, Songbirds, and the ones I haven't got to yet, from Savvy.....loads of scrapping fodder!Seeya soon- I am off to scrap some more!

Over at FOREVER ALWAYS we have just started the TRUE BLUE AUSSIE SCRAPPING COMPETITION. This is my layout for week one, The Coast challenge. We had to utilise a white background,bright colours(eek!) transparency, with the sketch. I took these photos yeras ago from the Champagne Pools boardwalk, and our campsite on Fraser Island.They suited the challenge perfectly. If you need some inspiration, come over and check out what the other fabbo ladies have created! I love the Recipe Scraps held at FA twice a month too. This was wednesday's recipe, the chef for this one was the fabulous michelle! Thanks so much for the recipe for this one Michelle, I absolutely love the way it turned out! I have had these Kaiser papers for awhile, waiting for that special time to use them...and use them I have!

Also this omnth, the Design Team ladies have issued a challenge of 'Tell That Story". I had this photo of me with niece Charita, and we have had a huge year of ups and downs, so I used some scrap bits and bobs, and did a layout with lots of journalling too. Love the Teresa Collins range!

Here is my take on the Forever Always February sketch- this page was fun to do! More Kaiser waterberry,but it just looked cute with the photos of Cheyenne. Two layouts in one night is a bonus for me...I am such a slooooowwww scrapper,and am indecisive. With this sketch, it just fell together, you've gotta love it when that happens!

A Sneak Peek!

Okay, well all the other ladies have been brave enough to do it, so I have joined in too- here is a sneak peek of my layout for Songbird Scraps first February challenge. I am totally happy with how it turned out, and with heart in mouth, I sent off my layout! It's kinda nerve-wracking, as this is my first time... all the insecurities about my scrapping come out, lol! But I love the layout, and it is totally me, so I am all good now! :)

I also did this one of Aleisha for the handwriting challenge at FOREVER ALWAYS. My baby started school this week, and she looks all grown up in her uniform, so cute! For this one I have used the sketch number 8 from Inspired Blueprints. I still have a couple of theirs to go, but alas, I don't think I will get all the scrapping I'd like to do by the end of January! Oh well, there's always February!

Speaking of Feb, don't forget to check out SONGBIRD SCRAPS for the first of our challenges at the start of FEB! I will get to that in a moment!!!Of course, I uploaded that photo first, so it's at the bottom ,lol! How miraculous is this-I have blogged twice today! Oh, well, it makes up for the times where I have been slack,don't you think? Isn't Patches a lovely cat? He is my old man, at 11and a half years of age...but boy does he still have attitude! I had the perfect shot lined up-a ladybeetle on a purple flower,test out the macro on the Canon...when he came along and stuck his head on the flower,the ladybird went flying, and that was the end of my "perfect" shot! AAh well, got a nice one of Patches, I suppose,lol!Oh, that's my 123 layout for Jan- here I am wafffling on!

Forever Always has another lovely mid month sketch. This layout was for that sketch, of my gorgeous niece Cheyenne. Note the look of horror on her face:( We were playing cameras, as she is so vain, and loves to look at herself!Evidently, she didn't like my kiss....lol!These are Creative Memories papers, that I bought donkeys ago,and finally used. I like 'em!

More cybercrop delights here- these were the Lamington Drops I made from Kye's recipe she shared with us-yummo! As Renae said-diet,schmiet,girls gotta eat! Yes renae, I did eat just one or two of these.......;0. Bianca has requested Sonia's Chjoc Macadamia cookies this week for lunchbox treats, will keep you all posted on my cooking finesse, or lack thereof!

Bianca did this layout of Miss Meggie for herkids challenge for the CC too. Her criteria was yello and white, with the colour of you chosen cookie icing thron in. She is of course, a chocolate fan, so brown was an obvious choice! Bianca was even so pedantic as to choose "Cocoa" coloured ink for her stamping........lookout scrapping world-I am cloning,lol!

CYBERCROP FUN!!!

Wowee, I have had a happy-scrappy past few days!Busy,but great! Over at the glorious FOREVER ALWAYS,I could barely keep up last weekend, it was Cybercrop time, and if this didn't get ya scrappin' , nothing would! I tried soooo hard to keep up, in amongst all else we were up to, but alas, I didn't get to Sonia's challenge:( The only one I didn't do:( . All of the fabulous Design Team girls were setting awesome challenges....Michelle gave us the challenge of animals, numbers, and white with three colours. So, I scrapped my fave hound, Miss Meg, and her studly boyfriend who had a sleepover recently! They were lying like this for ages, and I couldn't resist a happy snap!!!

Paula set us a challenge to use transparency,a heart,or the word love, and texture. I busted out the heat gun and did some embossing, and added lace, and some cute pp's to scrap a layout of my girls on Christmas Eve, tossing about Reindeer Food! I love the way it turned out, and was awfully inspired for embossing again!

The very clever Kye also issued a challenge- use Black and White only, raw chipboard, and bling, also a 5 embellishment cluster.This was one of the first photos I took on the 450D -AND i LOVE IT!So, it was my choice...and I really was happy with this one!!!!As a bonus, I have used up some stash that I swear was ready to be carbon dated too!

A HUGE congratulations to Miss Amie and her family on the arrival of their bouncing baby boy! In Amie's absence, we did a layered,3 or 6photo layout, with either moment or moments on the page! I truly believe that this is the WORST picture of me in existence,lol! Gotta love those Christmas Day photos, after you play with crackers, and all don silly festive hats!

Firstly, I apologise to my fellow Songbird ladies- I haven't gotten to all of your blogs yet, but I absolutely adore all of the work you ladies have done! I dunno how you all found me so quickly- but as soon as I have a chance(so I don't stuff it up,lol)I will add your blogs to my sidebar! After seeing the standard of work, I am amazed I was chosen, coz honestly , they are talented! If you haven't checked out the other Songbirds, I will have their links here soon, promise!

I have LOADS to share, as I have been scrapping up a storm this past week! Jacob has been on the computer heaps, so I have been scrapping, not blog surfing,lol! My first layout was for Renae's Random Challenge, I think it has been about twelve months since I did one of these, and I had to use a painted background,stitching, and a hand made embeelie, which is my flower up the top. I love this layout, so stoked with how it turned out! Renae also set a RAK challenge, so the only photo I had with navy in it was this one of my mum and her husband Lindsay. This was definitely a late night job, I finished it at 1.15 this morning! But I like the way it just came together- it doesn't happen too often!

Forever Always are starting a new competition this weekend, an Aussie comp, and we also have the cybercrop this weekend too! So if your mojo is ata astandstill, jump over and have a looksey, as I am sure you will be inspired by all the talented scrapper's work there! Going to aisle seven TODAY Sonia!

This next layout was my entry for this month's Scrap The Boys. I am a newbie to this one! It was great to dig out some old stuff for this one, I think I have had that hessian for four years....and the October Afternoon papers are sooo cute. My Jake - the most devious nephew an aunty could wish for!

I also have uploaded Bianca's Megmeg layout. She just adores our dog,Meg, and always plays with her. I swear if she could have her sleep in her bed, Bianca would! She has been wanting me to share her scrapping, so I will upload as she does more. I have done my Puzzle Sketches layout for this month about Bianca and Meg- Sweet Puppy Love! I love the photos on this one! Honestly, Meg shoves her head into everything you do! She is such a part of the family, and has some very endearing qualities. The joys of Bull Terrier ownershio- a stubborn, nosey dog who loves to be cuddled!

My Christmas layout was for the Scrapbook Savvy Scraplift challenge. Julie Heard was the scrapper we had to lift this month. I stuck woth a simple approach, as I didn't want to overpower the mighty Santa photo! Especially since it took Jake's help to get Aleisha to go near him! I totally love the DarkroomDoor stamps too! Only eleven months to go til Christmas!!!!

Well, best be off, my housework is calling me, and the washing machine has just finished chugging through another never-ending supply of washing! So very ecstatic! I got a super email from Susie Q today, from Songbird Scraps, to say that I had been selected as one of their Creative Team! Woohhooo!!! I can't wait to get started, and love the whole concept of their blog. For those of you who haven't yet come across Songbird Scraps,it is a challenge blog , using song lyrics as part of your journalling/title. I love this notion, as I am a music nerd, and love to use songs in my layouts! So, as you can imagine, I was stoked when I read my emails this arvo!!!Yay, yay- I really hope 2009 is my Scrappy Year!

I will keep you all posted with the challenges for the month, and i hope to see some familiar faces amongst the entries!

So far, I have got heaps of scrapping done-the first layout(the Santa one) is for Kerryn's Ad challenge at Scrapbook Savvy.I took these shots with my gorgeous Canon on Christmas Day-I really felt for the Pinata,lol! I love the way it turned out-and yes, I do believe in Santa!

The ever wonderful fabbo FOREVER ALWAYS always has great challenges too, and loads of inspiration. My Diva layout was created for Paula's Summer colours challenge. I started a different layout for this one, but just got nowhere with it, so I started again! Cheyenne is soo irresistable, so doing a layout of her was a snitch!Dug out my stamps too for that one.
Lately I am finding that I have ressurected older supplies-starting to get low on some things though! Sonia- I am FINALLY coming shopping!!!!

I have a few more on my desk, but of course, I am a night owl, and I will have to wait til tomorrow to take some shots.....one of my layouts is for Scrap The Boys, the first time I have done a layout for their challenge. Oh..the to do list grows every month,lol!

Booked myself infor my course on Tuesday, hopefully it will run at the end of February as scheduled. I can't wait to learn more about using my camera. We have two field trips at the end, which will be cool:)More photos to scrap!

Wow- it's 2009 already!

I cannot believe how quickly Christmas came, and went again! We did have an awesome time camping at Rainbow Beach for four days....except I put my Canon battery on charge, and left it at home, Doh! We were just about to board the barge( an hour away from home)and there were some gorgeous flowers on the roadside, and I thought I'd take some piccies....then I discovered that the battery wasn't packed! All the sunrise/sunset shots I had planned were dashed! Aah well...probably for the best, given that the kids had sand EVERYWHERE, so my camera stayed wrapped up tight, with no sand,lol!

I have scrapped a couple of layouts so far, finally got my room nice and neat too. Renae, if you have dropped by, it isn't as neat as yours but!Here are my sharies

-oops, I really suck at this, one has ended up at the top,lol!The photo of my gorgeous niece Cheyenne was taken on my new toy-I love the photos it takes!!!! I am going to do a camera course in late February,with two field trips, to learn how to use it more effectively!

I have no idea! This month has just been jam packed with things to do! I have had an AWESOME December, one of the main reasons is coz I was totally ruined by my Jacob, Bianca and Aleisha for my birthday-yes, way back on the 5th! I got my 450D SLR that I have been dreaming about! Here it is in all it's glory- I was spoiled with the twin lens kit- woohoo- I now just have to master it, lol! I think is is the most fabbo birthday present ever- except the horse I received when I was eight! So, of course, I have been strutting about taking photos willy-nilly-and LOVING it!I have warned all and sundry to wear sunnies tomorrow,roflmao!
I have been so organised with my Santa duties this year. Pressies have been wrapped , patiently awaiting the move from my wardrobe tonight:) I cannot wait til tomorrow- the kids will have aball! I think I am ready there too, my house is spotless, yard tidy, dog bathed, ironing done,washing done- yep- I am just counting down the hours now!Just a couple of errands to do, boring stuff! Bring on Santa!
Among the hub-bub-I have been so slack, and barely scrapped at all:( I have lots of plans though, haha. I think I might try to get to the scrap table tonight. I did this one for the monthly challenge at 123- you had to use a splash of paint, a tree, and bling.Did I mention I love Christmas?

This photo was pre 450d-so not as nice as it could've been, I am so in love with my camera! Even I can take a nice photo,lol! The journey of learning how to take better shots is beginning....well, for now, I will say a Merry Christmas to all, and to all Good Night! Ho, Ho Ho!!!!!

I can feel it in the air-and now that we are in the jolly month of December;lookout! I can't believe that Bianca is finished school for the year in another two weeks. Where did 2008 go?

My first layout to share is for the monthly White with one challenge. I found out about this one at Scrapbook Savvy. I had to give it a go, like, really could I resist a challenge? I took this photo AGES ago, and due to the fact that Ineeded Lime, and scallops, I thought I would scrap Mr Caterpillar. The stitching took sooooooo long, and I speared myself about ten times, but it was worth it!Oh I love green!!!! I also finally got around to the "Peas And Carrots" challenge at Savvy. The idea behind this one was to journall about the differences between two things, ideally siblings. I got to use another recent photo of my babies, who trust me, are like peas n carrots! I have had these papers for awhile, and wanted to do something a bit different- this is how it turned out...

Also, December is a big birthday month for us. I made a card for my father-in-law...I really struggle with masculine. He has a 4wd, so I thought this Land Rover stamp(pity it isn't a mighty Patrol!) would look good, and I love the colour combo of Chocolate and Blue. Speaking of Chocolate, it is a slider card, that Nichole taught me how to make-thanks Nic!i made a bigger one than I was originally shown, so that it would accomodate a block of Heaven choccy! Yum!!!!

It's a scrapping fiesta!

I have done literally HEAPS of scrapping in the last week or so! What's more- I have been so stoked with the results...you've gotta love it when the mojo just oozes, and layouts come together so easily-as opposed to pushing products around your scrapping desk, and not getting anywhere at all! My first layout here was for the ABBA Cybercrop at FOREVER ALWAYS last weekend. I miffed it- not paying attention,of course- and chose a song title that wasn't on the list..Der... However, I do love the layout I created below:) Shame that it was the wrong song, roflmao! I love Basic Grey papers, but I usually find them difficult to scrap with.I have had the pps from the first two layouts for aaaggggeeesss, but they worked so well for these layouts!Oh, and I am totally loving orange at the moment too, which is a colour I could never envision scrapping with before. Teal, Orange and White is now a fave colour combo for sure!
This layout of Aleisha was created using a paper that Krissy bought for me at last years craft show. I have always loved it, Basic Grey Romani range, but hadn't yet found the right photo to use it with...until Aleisha got a hold of our camera, and ran about with merry abandon taking photos of random thiongs, including herself! The orange hat was on, and bingo! I finally got to use the gorgeous paper! Thanks again Krissy, you have fabulous taste:)This one was done for a design team tryout- For Inspired Blueprints. If you haven't checked out their sketch blog go and have a stickybeak- some awesomely talented ladies on there! I found out via Kim Arnold's blog-another very talented lass indeed! I felt nspired, so I thought I would give it a go, and if I am a lucky person chosen, I would feel honoured to create layouts for the sketch blog! I so love to scrap:)

I hadn't taken any photos of my girls together of late, and decided it high time to change that!This layout is for Scrapjacked, which has just been given a reprisal by the lovely Louise Nelson!Here is my take on this month's jack!I love Heidi Swapp stuff....another item in the stash for awhile, but it worked so well with this photo.

At the fabbo Forever Always( my home away from home:) we had to use our scraps from the Cybercrop tio create two cards...here are the two I came up with. A bit of stitching, Mrs Finlayson, I hope you are proud of me:) Some Cuttlebug fun on the other one.

I am a bit muddled here, I do apologise...my uploading order leaves a bit to be desired,lol! this layout of Meg is inspired by the November sketch at Scrapbook Savvy. They are also a lovely bunch of friendly ladies, only too ready top inspire,challenge, and laugh with too.Loved this sketch!

Then, this is the RIGHT song from the cybercrop at FOREVER ALWAYS.... I used the ABBA title, I Do, I Do, I Do,I Do,I Do....coz I do love him that much, and then some:0 Jacob is however a litlle like the Loch Ness Monster to photograph!!! Have been scrapping like a demon- so many layouts in my head that are coming to fruition! If you aren't busy this weekend, and need some inspiration, Forever Always has a really cool cybercrop happening!!! Abba themed too- bust out the seventies gear for that one,lol! My layout" Precious" with our gorgeous native koalas is my layout for challenge one-the criteria was to use an altered item( I used a texture plate on the Core-dinations c/s to give a tree trunk look) buttons, 4 photos,and Bazzill. It all seemed fitting to do this layout as it is after all Steve Irwin day today! Oh, you had to use an acrylic stamp too- so I busted out a Heidi Swapp one.

My other lo is for a random challenge at Scrapbook Savvy- you had to use decorative edges. Well, that was the one I uploadeds for anyhow! I originally did the layout for Renee's technique challenge, with a glittery background, but then I forgot which challenge it was for, couldn't find it, got flustered, and realised I could use it for Sarah's instead! Works for me:)

These lovely high heels were taught at a recent do , at the fabbo Nichole's house. Thankyou to Christiane, and Kim, for showing me how to make them! This is my first attempt,so I need to fine tune a little more, but I love them, they are so sweet! I think that they will be a hit with the aunties, and other lady relatives for Christmas! The stamps on the shoe are from my Stampin' Up Sweet Serendipity set. Isn't it handy when you know the best Stampin' Up lady in the world? Shameless plug for gorgeous Nichole!!!!!!!Thanks for your monthly dos Nic- they are a hoot!I am lucky to have some of the most wonderful friends in the world I reckon!:)

This card is for my sister-in-law for her birthday in a few weeks. I saw the colour combo purple and orange listed in a mag, and thought, I will have a go at that!Love the way they look together, so much so that I have started a lo with this combo in mind.

This bag is flocked- I just loved this Poinsietta paper when I bought it- like ages ago! Now, after making this, I wish I had bought more! I am going to give these to the kids as a lolly bag at Christmas- and of course, I will make some for dogs too! These fabbo boxes were demonstrated by Vicki at a workshop I went to. Thanks for the inspiration Vicki! I will have to put a link to her blog on here - update my blog a bit- I have a few people to put on here!

I saw this challenge in the Chat Extravaganza forum , at Forever Always. The challenge was to use lyrics in your layout-well, as this is one of my fave songs at the moment, and I had these shots of Aleisha,what was I gonna do? I must have had these papers for an eternity, and they matched the Marah Johnson stickers sooo well!!! I was really stoked with how this layout turned out, as brights are not really my forte'.

I had a really productive evening last night, I scrapped,made some Christmas stuff, and a card too,Oh, and I also began another layout before hitting the hay! At present, I have hads a run of using up stash that I have owned for ages, and it all works really well with the layouts I am doing, which is a bonus! Out with the old, in with the new! When I am working with some of the stuff, it reminds me why I bought it to begin with!

I am starting to feel like a scrapper again! I have done q few these last few days, some I can't share at the moment, as I am undecided as to whether to keep them for the Scrap top 50 competition......just not quite confident if they are good enough! But I do have these two beauties to share. The first one, the lizard layout is for the scraplift challenge at Scrapbook Savvy. I have only just joined there this last week, I saw the monthly sketch and had to take part,lol! This little water dragon hitched a ride in a campervan we bought, Aleisha was so excited when we found him in the garden! I have wanted to use the photos for ages, and the idea just flowed - love it when that happens!

This layout of Aleisha, " aDORAble" is for the Cisters sketch of the month challenge.I always pop in there to see Krissy's gorgeous work in there, and when I saw this sketch, it was soo cute , and I knew the photo would work. If you're reading this Krissy, hope I did the sketch justice!!! Of course, Krissy's layout is divine, and so sweet.Very girly layout this one. What's more, I got to use the Dora rub-ons I bought ages ago- Aleisha is a mega Dora fan!

Not much else to report around here, just housework waiting like any other day! We went out yesterdayfor a lookie in the shops, Jacob bought a hd set top box, I dunno if I think it is much different-still looks like telly to me!Thanks for dropping in!

I have started to find myself again this week, with lots of scrapping going on! We are in the midst of some renovating too, and our new pergola was finished today-Jacob has been working so hard to get it finished the last few days, and thankfully the weather has held!
I participated in my first ever "Recipe Scrap" on Thursady, at Forever Always. What a great idea,just like class instructions, and you play along at home! Well, my flower girl layout is the end result,not the best photo of Bianca and I, but it worked in with the pps so well! That was the other great thing about this layout, it was created using only scraps from my stash.How neat is that?Thanks Paulua, for the fabbo recipe!
I have also found a groovy blog on the internet called Puzzle Sketches.The idea is, you have a set number of elements, and you create a page with them.My Bianca layout, You are Brave,was the lo I did for this! Once again, I managed to do this layout utilising mainly scrap bits. Two in one week! Mind you, there hasn't been a noticeable dent to the stash, lol!
My "You are my Sunshine" layout came about from the latest sketch from the funky Forever Always. I have sooo wanted to scrap this pic from gorgeous Krissy's wedding, and never found the right lo to doit. I am really happy with how it turned out- it may be far from a perfect shot, but I love it! Aleisha tried so hard to blow the big candle out through the glass,and she looked so cute, I couldn't resist taking a photo! The papers I used for this page are some that my friend Nichole found in a store, and they matched so well! I don't usually scrap with yellow, and thought it a bit of a challenge, but it came up well!
Well, I best be off, washing beckons, and though I am closing my ears, the threat of running about naked is looming if I don't launder!!Thanks for dropping by and taking a peep!:)

This week has been so great, I have really started to scrap again, which I am totally loving! The first few days I really just went on a bit of a "rediscovery" trip- oh, I forgot I had that........wow, I have to use that pp... and so it goes! Once I got over pushing papers around though, I actually got something done! This first one is the October monthly sketch at Forever Always, and it was just perfect for Bianca's school snaps! I can't find the small year one photos- oops, they are still somewhere safe! I used some of my Sweet Sampler stamps on this one for the background, and I was so happy with how it turned out!

Next I finally cracked open my Outlaw paper pack, that I bought sooo long ago.... I totally love the way they look for a boy layout! one look at the photos of Josh on haybales, and that was it- Boho Western, here we come! I'm going to give this layout to his mum, Christiane. Sure do hope she likes it! I sent her a sneak peek,and she seemed happy with the page, so it's all good!

This week has been so hectic- but refreshing. After a few months of searching, I have found my mum again, and spoken to her on the phone for the first time in about 7 1/2 years. Finally, I feel as though she sees me as a grown adult( though my antics may at times be misleading,lol!)and we chatted fro about a half hour . Shall have to take things as they come, and see how our relationship progresses from there.Work has been flat out, with us moving things around in preparation for ho-ho time! The shop looks a bit weird to me at the moment, stock everywhere- but it will all come together!

It has been so long since I actively used blogger, I have forgotten how to move images around- the one of Jakob should be down here?????? Oh well, at least it uploaded! Gotta love it when a layout just comes together- I picked the papers, and it just went from there! This was definitely the best Tupperware party I have ever been to- the kids had a blast with the baby animals, and it gave me the chance to take some more recent shots of the kidstoo!!

So much has been going on... and at last, the decision of where we are going to live has been made. The verdict is- we are staying, for now, well- at least maybe a few more years anyway. I am still a little disoriented by the whole deal, but I think it will be okay! Lots of things happening for us over the next few months, and before you know it, Santa will be here - HOORAY!!! I sooo love Christmas!!
In other exciting news, ( well, for me it is!) it appears that my stash will be reunited with me, hopefully over the next few days!!! Oh joy, rapture!!! I cannot wait to get myself back scrapping, I have a multitude of ideas swirling around my head, and look forward to getting back online again, and most of all, creating!!!
On the countdown too, to go to Nichole's next week for her monthly pms. Doesn't sound good when put that way- but it is such a buzz to meet up with all my scrapping buddies again!! I really miss them so. Why is it that life gets in the way, and it just gets so damn hard to catch up with those you love spending time with? I think I may suggest another monthly get together, for more scrapping fun! See what the ladies say...
Well, I have located the camera, so I shall leave it here for now, and take some piccies to upload of my cards later. Bye for now!!!

Wow time flies!!!

Has it truly been so long since I updated.....? You all would have given up on me by now!!! I do intend to rectify the situation, but alas, I have no scrappy goodies to share, as all of my stash is packed away, eagerly anticipating my move to the country- NOT to eat a lot of peaches! I went to Nic's PMS last weekend, with the awesomely talented Krissy. Had a total blast, and it was lovely to let the creative juices flow, and to drool copiously over Nic's GINORMOUS stash of Stampin' Up products!!!! Dunno where my camera is though, so I can't share what she taught us:(

Well- I did fiddle about with my new colours and roller, but haven't quite put the last minute touches on yet.When I can find the camera, I will upload- it feels like an eternity since I last did anything. Trust me, this year has whizzed by for me, and thankfully, I think we can now slow down long enough to scratch ! For now though, I will be off, there is more drooling to be done over a certain idea book I have! Take care and have fun, and don't do anything I wouldn't do, should leave heaps of scope!

I really have been slack-but oh, so busy. In the blink of an eye, months have rolled by, and my poor blog has been neglected:( Life has been mad, so much going on, too much to mention. I haven't scrapped for about a month, which I miss soooo much, I have loads of yummy stuff to play with, and photos piling high, lol!
Tonight, I am off to the Matchbox 20 concert with lovely Nichole-woohoo! Can't wait- Thirsty Merc are the support, so it should be awesome! Then, as life returns to normal, i think I may actually get to scrap again, by the end of the week-HOORAY!!!!!!!!:) Ciao for now!

It has been an eternity since I got on here! I have scrapped a bit- but not much this last week or so, so many of my layout feast I am about to serve, have been completed recently.Firstly this is my Scrapjack of the wondrous Jolene Pienaar layout, for February. I love her work, always gawp at it in the mags, so i was excited to jack her work.Oh, and now I know her blog addy, so I can go peek at her stuff more often:) I have also done another two pages for my Little Book Of Everything. The first one is a cloud of me page, the idea is you write down in 5 mins, a list of words that describe YOU. Then you create a layout with them. The other one was about everyday anniversary(things) happenings, that we take for granted.Here are mine-I am so stoked with the way they turned out!!! The rest I will just share, I have stuck sketches, Scrapapple Sketches, FABULOUS Forever Always sketch, created by Paula!! Um, I think that's all I have scrappy to share...I am now a little out of mojo, and have been finding it hard to get the time to scrap much. I am working on the BasicGrey sketch fro this month, with a photo of our sadly departed hairy child, Occy. My gosh I miss him.Shed a few tears last night when I started to scrap about him:( I get soooo attached, I hate goodbyes.

Yesterday, I joined the Tony Ferguson diet thingo. I think I will be fine with it, I don't eat many condiments, or bread all that much, and adore fruit and veges. Poor Jacob will be a whole different story! He has exceptional willpower, so he will achieve his goal, but he'll feel as though his thraot has been cut!!!No sugar, no SAUCE.The worst part for him will be fruit and veg- he detests veges, except peas(can't have those) beetroot( another no-no)potatoes( he nearly wept!) and in fruit, he doesn't eat much either. OMG, he will be in pain- but I can't wait to see how we go. Another chapter to life.

I'm so excited, it is now only 19DAYS UNTIL THE BROOKS AND DUNN CONCERT- YEEHAA!!!! I cannot wait, we are in row 38. Then in April, it's off to Matchbox 20, and somewhere in between we have Jacob's 30th( can't wait for that either!!!!) Storey Bridge climb- I'll shit my pants!roflmao.... Also we have umpteen family birthdays in Feb.Bianca's was just the beginning, Krissy's birthday, oh and don't forget Easter......... what a year it is shaping up to be!!!!!Bring it on I say! A huge weekend

Goodness me, we have been busy!Ay first glance this weekend, it seemed as though we weren't going to be doing much at all- my kids and myself were on the tail end of the flu, and didn't have any plans.So I had kind of settled myself into the idea of a huge scrapping weekend. i had grand plans of cleaning my room, now that all the back to school stuff was sorted, I could work on the other half of my room.....alas, that all changed! I did, however, stay up 'till the unearthly hour of 1am on friday night,and completed two layouts.Both of these were for the cybercrop that the wonderful Louise Nelson has set for us. The first was to use an altered photo,to become the main focus of the layout with minimal embellishments.The pink one Starting To Blossom, was my interpretation of this.We also had to use postage stamps on a layout, I used this photo of mum and dad, and made a cover attached to the layout, to look like an envelope, and addressed it to my dad, in heaven.I was really pleased with how it came out-I have wanted to scrap this photo for so long, as it is probably the most recent photo I have of my dad before he passed away.Lots of tears creating this layout:( Oh, I miss him, he would've adored my girls......
The last challenge was to create three 3x3 inch layouts, and use at least two non-conventional techniques, not normally used in scrapping... I struggled with these! In the end, I stitched, used watercolours, folk art painting techniques(stippling and filler flowers) and came up with these mini layouts of Bianca.I love 'em now!

For Australia Day festivities, we wnet to Archerfield Speedway in Saturday night! The girls thought the Caravan races were funny, and loved the rollover cars too. The feature race of the Sprintcars was awesome... such a bogan thing to go to!I enjoyed it, but we forgot to take jumpers, adn my back was playing up merry hell by the end of the night!I'd like to take the girls to see the monster trucks next time. Bianca was fascinated that I used to race in Speedway when I was younger, and asked lots of questions.It was nice to have a conversation with her about my younger years, and for her to be actually interested too!

Sunday was spent shoppimg for new shoes- another moment of excitement for me- Amart had Iron Maiden playing!!!! I was elated, walking around a shop , singing, "Run To The Hills". I thought it was neat, and dragged out shoe selection for as long as possible:) rofl..... Bianca got some new shoes, a few sets of clothes for the girls, and lunch out too. Then off to Malissa and Scott's, where another musical highlight took place- Adam Brand's new film clip.... oh heavenly day!!Late night though, and too wrecked to achieve much.

Well- off to scrap the night away- never know, I might get another two done tonight!!

A happy scrappy weekend....

I have had a fabulous weekend of scrapping! Firstly I went to a crop at Created By You on Friday night....many laughs were shared, pizza devoured, and chico babies flowed freely too:)What more could a devout scrapper ask for? I completed some layouts there, this first one was a challenge set by the magical Amie, on forever always....the colours to use were brown,lime and red.....after a bout of skepticism, (and a mild bagging too, lol) I decided to take the challenge....and this was the end result. Thanks Amie for a great challenge, and I do solemnly swear that i will NEVER think a colour scheme odd again!I also had a go at the latest Scrapjack challenge, which was to "jack" a layout by Kim Archer.I must say, I love the way this turned out-some of these photos of Aleisha I have wanted to use for AGES, and this was the perfect layout for themIt was all made a little easier by Kim's wonderful layout to begin with:)

In other scrappy news, I recently joined Karen's Scrapping Kupboard forum too, to meet even more lovely scrappers, and do even more challenges-stretch the scrapping learning even further still....and I have definitely done that!They have just started a new 2008 "Little Book Of Everything", which is to be scrapped in 6x12 format.This week's task was to create your cover, and use an eclectic mix, paint/fabric/metal/inks etc.Here is my cover. Totally me in so many ways-music is such a huge part of who I am, and I really love the papers in the Marah Johnson range, though finding the right layout can be a challenge.And let's face it-red and black are timeless together, and edgy.I'm itching to do the next task now!!!!Will kepp posting as the album is created... the idea is to focus on the everyday, and the little details that define who we are,love the concept.

I also did this one, again with photos from yesteryear,lol! This one was to use Christmas papers in a non-Christmas layout.

Oh, and if you haven't seen enough yet-this is a loooonnnggg post- I finally managed to get my second clock uploaded.This was one I created in my weekly sanity session at Created By You.Jody's sample was sooo much more detailed than mine, but I am sooo happy to have a clock in my scraproom now!:)

Then, for me the pie'ce de resistance' (I dunno if that is spelled correctly!) This is my take on the monthly sketch at Ksk.When I printed this photo,it was originally a F@*# up-learning to drive my new printer, I accidentally printed an A4 page size...ooops!Well, as luck would have it, I needed a big photo for this sketch, so, with some trimming, I happily used it! Jacob is a little embarassed about having his photo on a scrapping site, but shit happens,lol, and he is now indicating that he is a little flattered that the focus of this layout is his love for our kids.He truly is a fabulous dad.Of course, he is a man, and he wouldn't be caught dead scrapping....but I think he likes it!

Other than that, we had a really quiet weekend at home, in the garden, on the playstation, and generally farting about here.I have stepped up my exercise regime a tad, now doing 40 minute stints instead of 30.The scales are still groaning at me, but my clothes fit differently, so I guess I will have to wait for the scales to be kind!I am actually enjoying the walker now too....maybe there is a closet exercise junkie locked within me..hahahaha... not likely!Anyways, I have some Tim Holtz grungeboard waiting on my scrap desk,I think it needs me:)Ciao for now!

This week has been slightly hectic,and I for one, will be glad when Friday rolls around.I am going to a crop on Friday night, and I can't wait.....my kids are driving me INSANE, andall they want to do is fight and quarrel.The rain is becoming very irritating for them.:( Bianca went to stay with her grandparents for two nights,and has come home with mega attitude,at present she thinks she is thirty, not seven,lol.Grrrr, so over it!

On the scrapping front, I have been absolutely ploughing through work, and it's fabulous!

This layout of Meg is for Sara's STUCK! sketch challenge, I finally feel as though I have found a scrapping groove.My Autumn Leaves stamps would have to be one of my most favourite scrapping purchases,I use them sooo much! I also finished this one too:-

OMG-Aleisha has grown up soo fast-Krissy pointed out that she still thinks of Aleisha this way, and she is nto alone there! This layout was for Forever Always , for the January sketch! I finally got to use my Heidi Swapp crowns- they are so cute!The layout up the op, which I juat added, and can't seem to move, was my entry for this month's 123 Challenge, for this one you needed to use your craft knife, red on the layout, and your title had to be a part of you journalling. I think I fulfilled the criteria!

I joined up on Karen's Scrapping Kupboard this week too.I love to do online challenges, and to see some of the work that is out there is amazing! Lots of clever layouts everywhere!My online friend, Nicole, is on their design team now, so I thought I would go and check it out-I have been a member on a couple of forums, but some of them are real duds-no-one chats, or if they do, you are excluded as you aren't part of the "in" circle.So, I now will divide my time between a few, mainly the fabulous Forever Always( everyone there is just wonderful!!!!) , Karens' Scrapping Kupboard, and just check in on others todo their challenges, like Scrapapple, with their Weekend Workouts, which are great fun! I love to try something new, and meet new people too!:)

More scrapping fun

was had this week-in class we created a beautiful clock, which I forgot to take a photo of yet! Der! I have it up in my scrapping room, I can now keep a tab on the hours I while away in there....hehe.It was completed during my weekly fix at Created By You.I absolutely love it!

Well, this week I have done just sooo much scrapping, and at present I have another layout sitting on my table, mid-way through.It has been a productive week!

This one of Nichole and Jakob was created for the Weekend Workout, on Scrapapple.The challenge this weekend was to use a one word title, beginning with "A". I was really pleased with how this one turned out, and oh so grateful to the talented,kind Nicole Finlayson for her invaluable stitching lessons! The little bits of stitching really finished the page.I am becoming addicted!!!

I completed this layout, with one of Nicole's stitching classes.Isn't the layout divine? I was over the moon with the way it turned out-THANKYOU NIC!!!-I am so glad to have done this class, and can't wait to try more stitching;)

Today we went out shopping for a new couch! Yay- except the service assistants were really slack, and people kept pushing in, and we left with nothing ...:( I was so looking forward to a new couch too, the one we have is hideous, it is a mushroom colour, it was a hand -me-down, which is great, except I have red and blue feature walls, and pink just looks feral!!!! I plan on repainting the lounge wall, once we have a new wall unit, as the one we have at present is too hard for me to move myself! Then my wall will become a lovely chocolate/taupe colour, which should look alot better, as the couch we want is brown too.Fingers crossed, Jacob will go back on Tuesday, and that will mean a new mattress too-oh my aching back will finally be relieved somewhat!

In other news, I have managed to track down a long lost mate of mine, who I have known since i was 16. His name is Rob, and we used to generally runamuck, get drunk(LOL) and have funtogether! He was my then boyfriends' best mate, and we used to have a blast, talk about anything, and share a passion for Commodores! I rang his sister, whom I had to trace via another old friend, and another, and she had Rob ring me.I know time has passed, but it feels nice to have reclaimed some of my lost past, and I aim to catch up with a few more people before the end of 2008.Due to my moving, and breaking up with said boyfriend, it just got hard, but now it is all great-I have missed the laughs we shared, and can't wait to catch up on lost times.

YAY - I FINALLY SCRAPPED AGAIN!!

After a brief drought in the scrapping department, it appears that normality has prevailed, and I am now scrapping with a passion once again:) I have missed it so! The layout with my foolish hound, Meg, was completed in a class on Wednesday night, with the talented Jody, at Created By You. I was really pleased with the colours-I normally struggle with brights! It was fabulous to get back to class, and catch up with all the ladies! I have another one to complete from the class-Nichole "donated" her page, as she didn't like what she had done, I am hoping to print her photo today, and finish it for her, and give it to her next week-if all goes well, she will love the end result, and not abhorr the colours anymore.Silly sausage!

The layout of Jake is a challenge I have set on Forever Always. I have to set the new challenge, as I won the last one, so I have set using a slang term/word, and bright colours too. I did this layout of Jake last night-BasicGrey Giggles, and Doodles papers-I love the frogs! I couldn't bear to use them all , so I will have some left for another layout.:)

Hard to believe that we are now halfway through the school holidays....time is flying again.I am planning on venturing out to get Bianca's school things early next week, unless I can convince Jacob to hit the shops with me on Sunday, that is!

Jacob has been very supportive of my New Year Resolution to lose weight-I got a lovely surprise the other day- he bought me a walking machine-YAY!!!! So far, I have been vigilant, and hopped on for a half hour preset cycle each day, and yesterday( my second time) actually did feel easier than the night before. I'd like to lose about 10 kilos or so, I plan on rewarding myself at the 5 kilo mark, I think a new cd will be in order!

Well, housework is calling, better go, so I have it all done, ready for the next walk workout later:)Thanks for taking a peep into my corner of the world!

CELEBRATE 2008!!!!

Well-it's here-2008-OMG where has the last 12 months gone? Or , for that matter, the last few weeks? I have lost total track of time-it has passed in a blur.I haven't scrapped for over two weeks( sure to feature in the latest edition of Guinness World records!, lol) and have scrarcely had time to scratch! Christmas was fabulous, the girls had me up at a most ridiculous hour,3.45 am for Aleisha, followed by 4.12 for Bianca.....I was absolutely exhausted come the end of the day! A good day was had by all, I was utterly spoilt, Jacob, girls, and PIL, all pitched in for a HP Photosmart printer, which is FABULOUS!!!! Ialso received chocolates,(yummy), a Steam Mop( another coveted item) and odds and ends. Jacob loved his monitor,and I must say I do too, as it is lovely to sit here and type without the high-pitched squeals from the old one:)
We took the family to Movieworld on Sunday.I have to say, the Scooby-Doo spooky coaster is brilliant! We queued for over an hour to go on the ride, but it was awesome,very speedy, dark, and fun! I was peeved that I didn't get my wish, to go on the Batwing, but it seemed that all was against me:( Oh well, it will still be there in a few years time. I must confess, I totally chickened out of the Lethal weapon ride, and now gladly so, my B-I-L came off with bright red ears from being thrown about on the ride, so i am glad I didn't have the guts toi get on.My partner in thrills, Richie, wouldn't go on it or the Superman Escape, as his son was too short, so I didn't go either....... I hear clucking, lol!!!
I started a book yesterday, which I couldn't put down, I read James Patterson's " Judge and Jury". I loved it, a gripping read...... it seems like an eternity since I have read, well, since the last Harry Potter installment that is! They had a Harry shop at movieworld, and I could've spent a fortune in there!They had miniature wands, and cauldrons, and Hogwarts Express trains..... oh, I was in heaven! The outside was done to look like Diagon Alley, it was fabbo:)
Other than that, we took the new motorbikes out for a ride too.It was fun, Bianca has mastered the 110cc quad quite well. It was blowing a gale though, so I didn't take any photos, so my camera didn't fill with dirt. Maybe next time:)
HAPPY NOO YEAR readers, I hope that 2008 is a prosperous year for all!!!! I have a resolution or two..... lose weight in 2008( it rhymes, like Kevin07, lol) and to be published,somewhere, with my scrapping...fingers crossed! I think that calls for a layout....I am off to scrap, I feel-YAY!!!! Time to break the drought!!! Seeya:)

Hark-I hear angels! As a matter of fact-I hear two in particular, the sweet cherubs in this photo! I have finished my swap layout with the HUGELY amazing scrapper friend of mine, Nicole.Isn't the photo divine?I am so pleased with this layout-I think I have captured the way I scrap, and combined it with a layout that Nic would like too.At this moment, it is travelling somewhere between Queensland, and Victoria.I hope that Nicole gets it tomorrow.If you are peeping this way Nic, I hope that it looks nicer for you in real life, so that my post hasn't spoiled your surprise:) I really loved doing this, once I got over my nerves. Oh, and the finished layout does look fractionally different to this, as I thought it just needed a little more.

I am really excited as my first ever layout sent to BasicGrey was accepted into their gallery! It is a little hard to go wrong with their yummy paper range, but I was still stoked.

Work has been chaotic, today I could have done with another four arms,lol, one to catch fish, one to answer the phone, one to operate the computer with the new stock coming in, and I think the other one would have opened a Bourbon!!! I'm glad it's been busy, as Jacob will probably take a few days off over the holiday period now, so it will have been worth it.I have spoiled him rotten this year, normally I tell him what one of his pressies is, as I get so caught up in the spirit.......however, he has been cocky, and thinks I will tell him, as relayed to me by his Dad.Well, I have news for him-HE WILL HAVE TO WAIT HA! He is rather happy , as his bike woes are now fixed, after three bikes, and he now has a toy:) Quite funny actually, he and jis dad were both playing with their remote cars today, and the fools ran into EACH OTHER, ROFLMAO!!! Jacob had to ring me and tell me, and shortly thereafter, his dad ran his car into a palm tree..... I swear they'll never grow up!

Singstar!!!! I had a bash tonight with Bianca, and after three in a row of being labelled a "singstar", I was politely asked to go away:( Just when I had found agroove too:( Of all the songs to sing, I chose Alice Cooper's "Poison", and achieved 9720 points! I was a little shocked myself.....It has been simply ages since I sang, and I had kinda forgotten just how much I love it.I think that Singstar will cop a beating on Christmas Day, lol~!

I have been whacked this week, I haven't managed my time too well I don't think, and my scrapping has suffered.I have to finish my swap layout with Nicole, and I am sooo nervous to stitch on her layout.I should probably just bite the bullet and do it,but.... what if I don't do very well? I have asked her opinion of what she wopuld prefer I do, so I will wait till I hear from her methinks:)

Finished my clock that we did for a class with the ever-so-talented Jody! I love it, and feel sad to be giving it to Nanny now.I did , however purchase another clock, so I can make my own:)

I know the photo is a little blurry, but you get the idea.I also have three layouts on the go for various challenges, so I will have to get them completed!

I won soo many goodies from Forever Always, and received my Secret Santa from Sonia this week-wowee Heidi Swapp galore-I was stoked!!!

Bianca achieved another Academic Medallion this year, with even better grades than last year too.This year she got all vha's , bar one, which was a ha for P.E. I am sooo proud! I closed the shop for an hour yesterday to go and watch their end of year pageant, 'Away in a Manger"-very cute, with some amusing costumes, lol!The "donkey" wore a brown towel:) Bianca got right into the singing,and actions, much to her Poppys' mirth!

Oh well, my scrapping is calling, and since I've not done much, I think I must heed the call:) Thanks for reading!

A big weekend

This weekend has been hectic.... crop night on Friday night, work on Saturday,and fiddling about here at home to get the little things done before Santa arrives. My mission tomorrow is to clean fans, a/c , all the boring stuff that no-one will probably take any notice of on Christmas Day, but I still want to be sure it's spotless-JUST IN CASE!

Jacob got his new motorbike on Friday, and after all of the stuffing us about, it doesn't run properly, it floods, and we suspect the carby is dodgy.I swear the bike is cursed.. oh well, Jacob plans to ring them tomorrow, to arrange to go and get another one.. bike number three.I just hope that we don't have these problems with the kid's quad for Christmas.

I have entered a design team comp with MYSTICAL SCRAPBOOKS. They announce the winners on the 20th December. I have looked at the other entries, and the work of the other participants is stunning.Fingers crossed, I may be lucky enough to get a six month spot, who knows? I entered three layouts, and one off the page item.

Had THE best birthday today! It started off great, and just got better.I had messages before I got out of bed,(makes you feel important,lol) and thenhad a blast with Krissy and Nichole, and kids.Krissy and Allan gave me some goodies, a Kaiser tab album, Christams papers, storage folder( I do believe a scrapper cannot have enough storage)flocked papers, and some pearls-yahoo! Feel totally spoilt:) Went to class at the wonderful CREATED BY YOU this evening, and a surprise had been planned, with party hats, Pavlova(yum), and the naughty Nic shouting me some lesson for my birthday.All the girls had photos taken, and celebrated with me, and it was really lovely, I am sooo lucky to know such wonderful ladies! If anyone is reading this, I was flattered to spend my birthday with you! Thankyou! We made a yummy clock, which I am nearly finished, and will post when it is done.Too bad I told the family it was a pressie for Christmas-it looks too nice to give away! Oh well, any excuse to make another will do;)

I did a layout about the lovely Nichole for a Shallenge- the criteria was to utilise arrows, two patterned papers,and a large b&w photo.I was really pleased with it, though I haven't shown the hoebag yet!!!!!Luv ya Nic!

Yay, here I am, all by my lonesome on my birthday morn! I am now 32! Can't wait to see what the later hours of the day bring! I am off to spend the day( after some sleep:) with Nichole and Krissy, for lunch at Nic's new house. Woohoo!
I think I have a broken toe.Bloody grates over the drains out the back-Aleisha thinks they are great toys-I think they are a great way to fall over and mangle your toe,grr.
I did these layouts for Forever Always-I won a goody bag with the We go Together one.I will be stalking the postman!The Breathtaking one was fro a word challenge on Forever Always.I have been wanting to use the photos of my flowers for awhile now, and this seemed the perfect layout for them.I get to choose the next word for the challenge, on Thursday! I am thinking I may choose "believe".Well. bye for now:)

Well, at last I have done it! After procrastinating for months, I have a blog! Woohoo!I guess it will become more exciting once I know how to use it all, but hey-I am getting things down now!So much scrapping to do, my list just keeps growing, at present I aim to complete about 26 layouts this month.I really shouldn't burn the candle at both ends, but it is sooo addictive.I have been scrapping up a storm with layouts from Forever Always, and Scrap To The Max of late, and I am going to try out for Mystical Scrapbooks design team.I finally feel confident in my own scrapping!
Well, must go-it's an ungodly hour, and the eyelids are droopy....zzzzz.
